New Police Fees Introduced for Traffic Accidents

Perhaps drivers across Dubai will behave with more care on the roads after a new regulation has been approved that will see getting caught in a traffic accident that bit pricier.

While finding yourself in a traffic accident wasn't daunting enough, now thanks to new regulations, issued by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, you'll be slapped with a a fine if it's found that the accident was your fault once the Dubai Police have arrived.

The fine also applies to drivers involved in single vehicle accidents; so if you've accidentally driven into a barrier or column because of a careless maneouvre, and the Dubai Police need to visit the site, you'll face the AED 400 fine.

This new regulation is one among many others that have been enforced due to Sheikh Hamdan's approved regulations.

While the fine may seem steep, it's an understandable decision, one which we're sure any Dubai driver will appreciate. On a daily basis, the roads bear witness to minor car accidents, often with the Dubai Police at the scene.
