If you are like most UAE residents, then living in an apartment without even a hint of a garden is your reality. However, it doesn’t have to be. Here are 5 ways you can green up your apartment.

Balcony Garden
If you are lucky to have a big or small balcony, then you can definitely have a garden.

  • Materials you will need: Artificial grass and flower pots that you can get in any gardening shop in UAE
  • How to proceed: Lay down the grass on the balcony and place flower pots where ever you like.                                


Green Graffiti
Use moss and wood frames to create original and green art to decorate your home. To find out how to do so, check out instructions here(Link)

  • Materials you will need: Moss, water and more or you can go to your local gardening store and ask them to create the “moss art” for you.
  • How to proceed: Hang up your moss art as you would a picture. Spray with water ever so often and enjoy your live art.


Vertical Garden
If you want to have a small herb garden or just some plants but are limited in space don’t worry. There is a simple and easy solution for you.

  • Materials you will need: Wall gardening frames with pots that you can get in IKEA. You will also need flowers that you can get in any flower shop.
  • How to proceed: Hang the wall gardening frame and place your flower pots on it. Tend to your flowers as needed and enjoy your wall garden.

Terrarium Garden
Ever heard of terrarium gardens? It’s a small garden inside a mason jar. Super easy to take care of and gives you that green you were looking for.

  • Materials you will need: Jar, soil, plants or you can buy the terrarium at any gardening store for about AED 55 to AED 125
