Frozen In Dubai- party ideas, costumes and more!

Disney's record breaking, best selling film Frozen has literally taken Dubai by storm and parents are anxious to find everything Frozen related from dolls to costumes and everything in between. Anna, Elsa and Olaf are the most popular characters that are in high demand. Here we take a look at where you can buy Frozen merchandise from and ideas for hosting Frozen themed parties... as well as costumes you can buy or make yourself! So let's take a closer look at all things Frozen!

Party Ideas

If your little one is insisting on a Frozen themed party for their birthday here's some top ideas of how to achieve this!

Activities

First off- you must visit the Frozen Disney site- they have loads of free downloads including printable activity sheets... they are sure to be a hit...

They've also got free craft idea sheets and sheets to be coloured in- they will give the party activities that authentic Frozen touch.

They've also got on their website the song lyrics to the smash hit song "Let It Go" to download- your party could have a great musical interlude with everyone singing along to the song. Most little fans seem to know off by heart anyway! Here's a link to the Let It Go Lyrics>>

Take them to your local printers to get them printed on card or paper- the colours will come out lovely if you get them done professionally.

You can plan to introduce many of these activity sheets, crafts and games into your party to make sure there is plenty to keep everyone entertained.

P.S.They've also got some great apps on their for the kids to play that are both educational and fun- you might want to get those downloaded too whilst you're at it!

Party Theme

Well it's got to look snow-y that's for sure! Your key colours need to be white, silver and turquoise blue and think cold, cold, cold. There's a lovely user on Pinterest who has a massive Frozen Birthday Party pin board that is chock full of ideas for inspiration.

You're also going to need lots of snow- you can make snow or get a snow like feel using cotton wool, styrofoam, white furry fabric or white sheets to cover larger areas, cotton wool balls, quilt batting, pillow innards, polysterene balls etc. There are also loads of recipes on the web using salt, washing soap etc but you might want to stick to no muss, easy to put out, easy to sweep up and remove snow!

See if you can find or repurpose Xmas decorations in silver, blues and whites to also add to the ambience.

We know that the party invites are sometimes hard to come by as well in Dubai- but don't worry there are loads of low cost downloads you can find online to get the invites sorted. They'll send you customisable templates that you can add text to and then either print out at home or take to your nearest printers (Desco or Spectrum have a lot of branches and you'll be surprised how reasonable the print costs are).

Character Toys & Merchandise

There are a few places in Dubai that sell Frozen mercahndise but it sells out pretty quick- so we recommend calling before you go! Try Toys R Us, The Entertainer Toy Store, Hamleys etc.

If not you need to get planning ahead and order online- Amazon has a great selection of toys, merchandise and costumes. It's better to be safe than sorry and order well in advance of birthdays, Eids or Christmasses- you don't want to be stressing out! Disney Frozen Sparkle Princess Elsa Doll is a number one best seller on Amazon- closely followed by Disney Frozen Sparkle Anna of Arendelle Doll! if you find a seller that has what you want but doesn't ship to Dubai- try using Borderlinx or Shop & Ship to make sure you get the Frozen dolls here and the kids happy!

Costumes

These also seem to be in scant supply in Dubai as well- although you could try Mr Ben's Closet, Creative Minds as well as the toy shops- again give them a call before you go so you don't have to drive all around town! If not the web is going to be your friend again or you are going to have to get sewing.

There's loads of versions available online from the official Disney versions to handmade costumes from Etsy sellers. They are mega in demand as well and often sell out- so whatever you do- don't leave it too late or you will be sewing it yourself!

Or you could get adventurous and make one yourself! You could either start from scratch gathering your materials from Satwa and fabric stores or you could shop around and see what you can piece together- you might be able to take the bodice off a dress, add a skirt... and magic it all together!
