Steps to Consider Before Moving House in Dubai

Are you thinking of relocating to a new place? Looking for a new place in Dubai can be a difficult and time consuming task. Relocation involves many services such as movers, painters, cleaners and pest control providers. Finding these providers individually is tedious and frustrating.

Think about the time and energy you have wasted during your last move. Is it really worth going through that again, or is there a better way to go about your move?

1. Outline your schedule

In order to avoid stress outline what needs to be done in your current home and in your future home.

How will you move? Will you conduct the move yourself or do your require a professional removal company? When moving out of your home you may need to consider whether you are going to paint and clean the apartment in order to restore it to its original condition, or will you give the landlord a portion of your security deposit. Put all the services you need down on the paper and have a set date in mind when you want everything to be done. Maximum variability should be of two days in order to keep a clear track and reduce your stress.

2. Establish a clear budget

It’s often easy to say I need painting, cleaning, pest control and moving done within the next two weeks.

However what we want and what we can afford are two different things. In order to avoid confusion and overspending, set a budget that you are willing to spend for your move. Your budget must take the absolute maximum amount you are willing to spend, be realistic in your demands. Remember cheapest service may not always be the best service.

3. Check customer reviews

When looking for any service providers you should always check for customer reviews in order to establish the credibility and quality of the service provider.

Check out comparision websites to read different customer reviews, compare prices and ask for quotes without any charge. This will help you to determine the right movers and packers for you.

4. Request for DEWA, Du & EJARI package

Usually the most time consuming task besides the move is the transfer of DEWA, Du and Ejari.

All the paper work takes a lot of time and effort. The task requires multiple visits to the customer department office. In order to save yourself time you can request for a DEWA, DU & EJARI package that will cost 500 AED in Dubai. Under this package, all paper work and office travel and transfer of services will be done for you. The price does not cover your final bills, it’s the price you pay for the transfer to be done.

5. Finalize your services

Once you have received all you quotes and requested for all your services, finalize with the companies.

The first company you should finalize with is your movers. The rest of the services should be aligned with your house moving date. Before booking for cleaners and handyman ask your moving company if they provide this service. If you are paying a medium to premium price this service should be provided to you for free.  Remember to check customer reviews before picking your removal company, there is nothing worse than paying for a moving service that is bad.
