Students of Dubai - grab them ASAP!
It's your retreat, your home away from home, your go-to-place following every lecture and party for most of your university years. Usually, it comes with the bare necessities - a bed, a wardrobe, a table, a chair, and even a shelf and mattress if you're lucky enough.
Obviously, you've got to add your personal touch to it - some fresh sheets, new curtains, changing the layout here and there, put up a few photos of the people you love - to make the place feel more like home.
It's cozy, but some essentials are missing to make it even better. Before you get swept up in the tempting siren call for dorm-room shopping - hold up. You'll find items you will convince yourself that you need, but will sadly never make it out of their packaging. Maybe you'll use it only once when you're bored.
That's why this list of 12 dormitory essentials exists, to guide you and hopefully make your university shopping less chaotic.
If the college tuition isn't already burning a hole through the pocket, you might want to sign up for an Amazon Prime membership trial. Trust us, the free, next-day delivery will be a life-saver at university.
#1. White Queen Size Mattress Topper
After years of use by previous dorm-dwellers before you - and likely, it's a lot if the building's been around for years - the mattress provided would have flattened and become less fluffy and comfortable than it originally was. Also, ew, food and drink spills, drool stains... you don't even want to start thinking about what other terrible things happened to your mattress.
If the RA won't permit switching out for new bedding, we've got your back with this super comfy mattress topper.
