Paul McKenna in Dubai

Our editor caught up with Paul about his workshops, what he hopes to achieve and his thoughts on Dubai...

Paul McKenna Dubai

Paul McKenna is coming to Dubai in October for two really interesting, what he calls, training sessions where he will be dispensing his knowledge and techniques to the audiences in Dubai. Paul says that, “Success and happiness are not accidents that randomly happen to some people and not others; they are created by specific ways of thinking and acting.” He is going to teach people how to master their emotions and get the most out of life. Millions swear by his persuasion techniques, and he’s bringing his unique set of skills to Dubai – we can’t wait!! There are two events happening in October:

Change your life in 2 days
3rd-4th October
This two-day dynamic, positive life-changing experience with one of the world’s leading experts in human development is sure to be an experience of a life time.

Persuasion, influence and presentation skills
6th October

I called Paul McKenna up in the UK excited to talk to one of the world renowned leaders in hypno therapy and human development. This man has been studying people and their behavior for decades and has used his skills to help numerous people with bad cases of phobias and inspire millions with his series of seven days books. Paul credits the development in technology with helping him reach out to a larger audience and when we spoke the first thing I asked him is if it was possible to hypnotise someone over the phone. To my surprise he said, “Yes.” He said that he has helped people with his app. whereas before the advent of technology and iTunes, tablets and smartphones people would have to go out and get his book. Then they would have to try the techniques on their own at home, however with the advent of new media he is available 24/7 to inspire and encourage his audience. Paul says that for a few bucks you can get his app and have him on call, whenever you need.

Paul also says that through the use of social media he is able to reach out to more of his audience and connect with them on a personal level. “I mostly post inspirational messages,” he says, but then goes on to add that he does post bits from his personal life too. We know, because we’ve seen him taking pictures with his dog Bentley on Twitter. He says that social media has brought him closer with his audience. “If I could clone myself and answer every single post, I would,” he says. While he is not able to do that Paul tries to redirect the audience on a right path to find answers to that which they are looking for.

Paul started out as a radio DJ, but after meeting Richard Bandler, one of the world’s leading therapists, Paul abandoned his job as a DJ and pursued therapy for many years. He started out as a hypnotist – one that uses comedy and humour – but soon after his friend Simon Cowel told him that he will never be taken seriously as a therapist and Paul took on this advice and set out on a more spiritual journey of helping people unlock their inner confidence.

Paul was last in Dubai ten years ago with Deepak Chopra. “Dubai is really remarkable,” he reminisces, and I mention to him that it’s grown and is better than ever. McKenna sounds excited about the prospect of coming here, “we get a lot of people from the Middle East at our sessions in other countries, like the UK” and he seems genuinely pleased about the prospect of coming here to teach people about gaining more control, optimism and joy. When I ask him about the skeptics he says, “just come, no one does anything that they don’t want to do. We do a lot of visualization.” He asks people to be “benevolently skeptical” when they attend. The training will give the audience techniques to help take control of their minds, ways of thinking and the ways in which they live their lives. “The two events are trainings, not lectures,” says Paul – ultimately he is on a mission to help people by teaching them they ways in which they should be thinking, acting and reacting to certain situations. “I want to teach people to be authentic and powerful communicators.”

“Success and happiness are not accidents,” says Paul. “They are created by certain ways of thinking.” Paul McKenna will be in Dubai to show you how to think in ways that will open up new avenues to your life. This is a one-in-a-lifetime experience as Paul himself has told me that he plans to retire from public life in the next few years … but you will still be able to buy his books and download his apps.
