5 March 2019
Bustling with the flavours of Asia, 24th St. quickly transforms you to the streets from across Asia.
The restaurant offers Asian street from China, Korea, Japan and India. The restaurant offers more authentic feel to it with the food stations aptly named as Kim’s Korean, Lucy Wong’s, Momo San and Chatakana.
As soon as you enter the restaurant you get a kitschy Asian feeling. The lighting is kept dim, which transports you to the back alleys of Asia.
Each food station comes with live cooking, so you can watch the chef’s prepare the specials for you on the spot. Even though the concept maybe street food in essence, the restaurant offers competent service, good hygiene and beautiful views of the city.
Low-hung lamps, wall murals of Asian art and spectacular views of the city keep you company whilst you the enjoy the flavours direct from the streets of Asia.
Here comes the Food…
With live cooking stations across the restaurant, one never runs out of food to choose from. A quick trip across the room and you’re already spoilt for choice.
We started off with sushi starters from Momo san’s, which consisted of Spicy tuna Rolls and California Rolls. The sushi was fresh and full of flavor, with the extra condiments offered on the side, like wasabi, soy sauce and pickled ginger.
We then made our way to the Indian street food corner, where we indulged in delicious vegetarian biryani, which was full of flavor complimented by some bean salad and raita.
The second serving from the Indian station was of barbecued to perfection chicken tandoori, complimented by fresh bread.
We then made our way to the Chinese station, which was laden from the treasures from the streets of China. Our choice from this station were dim sums spinach dim sums and marinated lamb.
The spinach dim sums in particular were one of our favorites, cooked to perfection with flavor that melts in your mouth.
Best for the last
The dessert station is nothing short of a scene from a French movie. Decorated with black and white tiles, it reminds you of a beautiful café. The wide array of options keeps you thinking what all can you fit on to your plate.
From French delicacies to Spanish desserts, it has it all. We choose to start with Crème Brulee, Churros dipped in chocolate, the fluffiest cheesecake ever and finished off with the tastiest ras malai ever.
The best way to go about the buffet, is to make your way slowly and taste and savour every dish.
Each dish is created with flavor and soul of the place it comes from. Grab your friends and head down today to enjoy the best Asian street food in Dubai and the best view of the city.
