Go to the state's general hospital. You will find as many occupational therapist as possible. Not all private occupational therapist can be trusted as many of them are not certified.

Thanks DesertRose:) I agree there's nothing wrong in finding an OT doing this informally... but problem is I don't know anyone & not sure how to find someone! I will try & search more... so far with my search for OT's I only found 2 places who have them: AEI Oman & Rochester clinic.. but can't find good opinions or reviews.. can you provide the link you got so I can search the names of both OT's? Also I am already in contact with the speech therapist in Al Harub, she told me the OT there is leaving the country:( and she doesn't know of any other OT's in Muscat. But I still asked her to check for me. I'm still kind of new to Muscat & finding it really difficult when it comes to finding good doctors & therapists. Thanks again for your help, and if you hear of any good OT around (in clinics or not) please do let me know.

Truthfully I dont know if there is one who's up and running in a clinic, and thats what you'd be looking for unless you did it informally with an expat wife working out of her spare room. Not that there's much wrong with that, you'd at least get an idea of what's what - if not much more. However I was doing a seach on autism/oman just last week and found a few links to a couple of workshops that had been going on and 2 OT's were listed as speakers. You could maybe do search and see what you come up with. Or you may want to contact Al Harub Clinic in Shati Al Qurum. I know for sure that recently they were very close to employing a paediatric OT, it didnt work out, but the lady is still in Oman. It really is a bit of a desert when it comes to things like this which I why for anything OT related we come to the UK. Its where we currently are, and though I do have my OT friends visiting me on holiday often, its not something thats likely to happen again for a while or I would have helped you out. I'm sorry I cant be of more help. edited by DesertRose1958 on 26/04/2011
