I live in Salalah and I need to bring my dog (mini daschund) to her vet in Muscat in the next week. She has cushings disease and I need to get her blood test done and it's a 5 to 6 hours process. It is too tedious and stressful for my dog, who is nearly 12 years old, to fly in cargo both ways within 48 hours. I am looking for a ground transport company that will allow pets to take us to Muscat and then I will fly back to Salalah via Oman Air. Any suggestions will be very much appreciated.

Sarahlou : I suppose you live in Muscat. Muscat sounds a much better city to be in than Salalah. Would you know how long is the drive from Salalah to Muscat? or should i just fly? Thanks.

I desperately hope someone can help me. I have 2 friends coming to Dubai from the USA and they need a 30 day tourist/visit visa. One from Brazil and the other from Venezuela. Does anyone out there can recommend a company to process such visa? Does anyone know how much roughly it would cost? A company quoted me AED1,100... is that too high. They are coming 4 Sept and flying Swiss Air ( If they flew Emirates Airlines, the airline can do the visa) I need to sort this out ASAP. Any info will be helpful. Many thanks.

I know I have 30 days. My questions is : 1) Must I leave with my husband together? I wants to leave 10 days after cancellation and I want to leave 20 days after cancellATION. His employer PRO says we MUST but I am hearing different. So, [u'>MUST WE LEAVE DUBAI TOGETHER???[/u'> 2) With American passport, when I exit, can I come back to Dubai after few days or [u'>DO I HAVE TO WAIT 30 DAYS BEFORE i COME BACK AFTER EXITING???[/u'>

Thanks Aleta and Debliz. Well looks like I can exit with my husband and return alone in a day or two, getting a visitor visa upon entry to spend time with my friends. What I heard was when the husband's residence visa is cancelled, he has 30 days to leave and MUST leave TOGETHER with his wife and neither of them [b'>cannot [/b'>[u'>[/u'>come back to dxb for at least 30 days. Nothing is clear on their website, thus worried and confused.

I have a american passport. We are relocating to another country. Is it true that when my husband's company cancel the residence visa, I his wife will need to exit with him?? I know that once residence visa is cancelled, you also have up to 30 days (not 1 month) to exit the country. [u'>If I have to exit with my husband, can I come back to Dubai as a tourist within a week after exiting? or do I have to wait for specific period after the exit date before I can come back as a tourist.? [/u'>I want to come back to Dubai to spend time with my friends as my husband needs to leave Dubai ASAP to join new employer in another coutry once the residence visa is cancelled. I hope someone out there can share their knowledge or experience on this exit visa question.

I second Blue Oasis. They have been fantastic to my little dashchund. They do X-rays, acupuntures, etc etc. They also house cats. Every time I bring my doxie to Blue Oasis, it is remedied on the first and one visit. Their tel is: 04.8848580. It may be a little far out for you, to me...it is worth the drive if you know your furry friend will be healed and is in good hands.

They do not have the 1-4 break. Unlike Gold Souk, it's open throughout the day.

When you are there, if you look at the directory of the IBn battuta mall, there is a tailor listed. That's the one. Go to Customer service, they will direct you there too.

Can anyone recommend a school/company for spanish language course? I live in Dubai Marina. Berlitz is too expensive (about 4,000 AED for beginners level one. 3 hrs a week for 3 months with books and CDs). There was a ad in the EW a few months ago and I wrote to the school from the website but never heard back. Does anyone remember the school?

Yes, I was there yesterday and you all are right, the nuts are of good quality. The nuts were all vacuum packed for me to take to Singapore for families. I got the nuts, dates and figs as well.

Was there last wed. Egyptian pavillion, a restaurant food served outside the pavillion with lots of table and chairs. Delicious, fresh and hot (temperature) dishes. Sharwarma sandwish only 7 Dhs. Falafel were great. I was there with Egyptian friends and they said it is good... even the stuffed pigeon.

I was there last night. Bought at Yemen, India, Malaysia and Morocco. All these stores are negotiable. Most items bought are either cannot be found at Dubai stores or are cheaper than the Dubai stores. I bargained of course. Had dinner at the Egypt. Fresh and hot dishes!! The Falafel is delicious. At the Iranian store, the pistachio nuts were 80Dhs a kilo which I thought was expensive. Does anyone know where to get good pistachio nuts? How much are they a kilo normally?
