New to Dubai and surprise surprise... bad skin!

I moved to Dubai about two monts ago and after ten days i suddenly broke out. I scratched and of course it got worse. I went to a doctor (not a dermatologist, just a regular GP), thinking it was impetigo etc

She looked at it and said "i hope it is not acne" and gave me Fuicidin H as it looked inflamed. I have never had acne or been troubled with spots in my teens. The fuicidine helped, but still new red spots would show up.

I have then been googling "bad skin dubai" and came across this forum. Since then I have stopped eating chicken, eggs and milk. I also put on sudocrem every day. This has helped alot and my skin is better, but it is still not as clear as it was when i moved over.

So my questions are:

Anything else to avoid apart from chicken, milk and eggs?
Should i use other creams apart from sudocrem? Avene cicalfate perhaps-never tried it..
Should i install a waterfilter in the shower?
What bottled water is the best? And which ones to avoid?

Any help greatly appreciated

I have not been in the sun at all so it is not heat rash etc
Nor have i changed any cosmetic products since i have moved out here

Have to agree with fairytale. Your skin will change as your climate etc has changed. Wouldn't go down the antiseptic route though. I found just changing to a regular Nivea mousturiser did the trick. Its a simple case of finding what suits..... Now if i put on stuff i used previously at home the same occurs!! Welcome anyway Bergan.. x

Thanks Fairytale. Good to know that there is hope ha ha :-) sounds like we've had identical skin reactions. I will try the cream you recommended.

Maybe not changing your cosmetics is the problem. The climate here is (I'm guessing) much different to where you came from so you're skin will react differently. I have very oily skin which got worse when I moved here so changed to a gel (rather than fluid) face wash and this helped. My skin is prone to spots as it is so the oilier it gets the worse the spots. I also change my moisturizer to something without oils/perfumes as this can also irritate the skin. I agree with the extra water, fruits etc. Healthy eating can only help. For a while I also used Diane (contraceptive) and this helped a lot with my skin. It could be a number of reasons, maybe see a dermatologist. I would guess environmental rather than diet (unless you have changed your diet since you got here). HTH and good luck. I know how you feel.:)

My dermatalogist mentioned that its to do with how healthy our stomachs are. Our skin is wat we eat..so he added min 2 litres of water in my diet; fresh fruits to start the day with; mild laxative to clean my stomach. With in a month my glow was back...and these days I know if I dont have enuf water my skin gets sensistive. And switched to Neutrogena...all products! Hope you find a good remedy or mix of it to suit your skin...[/ Thanks for the tips, i will defo give it a try. I know i dont drink enough water and my fruit intake is probably too low, so this will be good for me regardless of good/bad skin.
