Hey Scotchanddiet..just happened to see the thread..I'm a big time decoupage fan..(just like the million crafter moms all around the world)Since finding Modpodge was a bit of hassle..I found out a cheaper way of getting my crafts done. mix equal parts of white glue (pva/wood glue-anything that dries clear) and water, shake shake shake- you are good to go. If you want a matt finish, skip the second coat. I usually use varnish for the final coat. Recently did one project..see if you like this(Decoupage but no modpodge used) http://thecraftysideup.blogspot.com/2012/02/decoupaged-silhouette-plate-tutorial.html :o) HTH.

Hi crystalsindubai - thank you so much for the offer, but I am now living in Canada (but missing Dubai, as you can tell from me still hovering around on EW!). Scotchanddiet - I haven't set up a user on pinterest yet - I just googled it after seeing it mentioned in your post and was wowed by it. Thanks for your link - I will certainly follow you.:) Hi again Snugglepot, hope you can find suitable materials... or have the supplies "faded out" for decoupage? Lovely to hear of people who miss Dubai and must have enjoyed their stay, instead of all the "whiners"....! See you around, then, on EW. Hi Scotchandiet, had a quick look at Pinterest - had a look at it last night after your post - great new concept (for me). Must delve into it more thoroughly.

Hi Snugglepot, Years ago, I used to do decoupage and still have some good craft books, papers and boxes, if you are interested. It is a lovely craft, even if "old-fashioned" as you say, and well worth learning. Let me know if you'd like to see the materials.

Aghhhhh... Scotchanddiet --- I don't know whether to thank you or shot you!! (Joking) - have just looked at the Pinterest site and WOW - what an amazing concept - I always feel guilty about how much time I spend on the computer going through the EW threads - now I am never going to get off the computer and leave the house by the time I go through all the amazing Pinterest "stuff". Out of interest can I ask what type of craft ideas you are going to try - I have recently thought about getting into decoupage but can't seem to find much about it - has it turned into a "old-fashioned" craft idea - typical of me, always 10 years behind everyone else to get interested in things!

I've seen Mod Podge recently in an arts and crafts shop (might be a teacher supply shop) in the blue shopping center on Beach Road with the Automatic and Burger King in front. It's not in the shop right next to the Automatic, but a few stores to the left of that one. Hope that's clear. :)

Excellent- thank you. Of course had I typed the correct spelling I might have had more chance of finding it in a search - duh! So off to find *modge* lodge this weekend. Shall try the Paper place at Jumeirah and also mig look at the teacher supply shop at the Beach Centre (the same building where the uniform shop is... )

Hi - was it Paper Lane on the Beach Road in Jumeria 1. I think that is Town Centre and is def on Level 2. I am new - 4 days - but located this on my reccie visit as I am a scrapbook addict! It has good supplies though don't specifically remember Mod Podge. If you don't find it let me know as I have a supplier in the UK who I will inevitably be sending to for my fave bits if I can't find them!

A couple of years ago, I sent DH out on a mission to find me some Modge Podge- and he came home with 9 tubs ( Im still using it!) Bless his heart- he wasn't sure which one I needed ( satin sheen etc), so got a few of each! He bought it from a small 2 storey mall along Jumeirah Beach Rd, just up from Mercarto Mall. He is sitting here trying to wrack his brain and remember name of store. He is thinking Town Centre Shopping Mall ( 2 blocks from Mercarto...same side) It was on 2nd level- a craft store. Perhaps try the search option on here ( though it was asked ages ago, I have a feeling I found out about where to get the glue via this forum) Hope this helps a little

I've been inspired by Pinterest to make some crafty stuff but need Mod Podge for a few projects. Any ideas?
