Hi ladies,

I am 29 weeks pregnant and looking for suggestions for a good stretch marks cream. Does a SMC really work ??? I have heard many neg responses than positive ones that they are just a waste of money and hence I have been putting off the use of one, being confused .... however, recently, I noticed my stretch marks looking deadly and am seriously considering of using one .... whether or not it works on me, only time will tell ....

Please suggest some effective stretch marks cream that have really worked wonders on you !!! ( I know it works differently on different women) .... My doctor suggested Mustela .... anyone heard of it or used it ??

Dermalmd Stretch Mark Serum saved my life! I had a lot of stretch marks from my pregnancy, they all went away! You can't even see them anymore. Very happy with this !

I'm a black woman and DermalMD Stretch Mark Serum worked miracles for reducing the hyperpigmented of my acne scars. Very visible difference within about 2 weeks! Also I struggled with oily skin, and my skin is actually less oil when I use this product!

Have been using only dermalmd stretch mark removal serum on stretch marks for years. I think it has helped reduce old stretch marks and I continue to use it every day to prevent new ones. I like the scent and the feel of it. It is not greasy and dries pretty quickly.

Keeping skin hydrated is one of the best ways to prevent stretch marks from ever appearing. The hyaluronic acid in this body gel cream helps quench skin's thirst and keeps it healthy and moisturized, which can stop stretch marks in their tracks. I have been using this because when I was 18 I got the stretch marks problems because of losing the weight suddenly, then my mother suggested to me this cream and I must say this proved very effective for me.

I too used a mix of bio oil and palmers stretch mark cream until i was about 28 weeks pregnant. It was at this time i started to noticed one small mark appearing. I invested in a product called trilastin you can buy it online. Again a bit pricey but i can't recommend it enough. i gave birth to a 4kg baby and not a stretch mark in sight!

I have been using Bio Oil every night and so far have no stretch marks; again I don't know whether this is down to luck! If nothing else my bump is beautifully soft...even my husband has noticed! I also rub a little Bio Oil on my face each night as I have very dry skin and it has helped that too. I swear my face looks a bit less wrinkly! (Frown marks...) It is expensive...around 150 dhs for the large bottle but I got it on 3 for 2 in boots a few months ago. Also....I have been using it every day for months and still am on the first bottle with about a quarter left! It smells lovely too. I am a convert! :)

I had stretch marks at 17 already after loosing a few kilos (not many at all, but my skin is very stretch marks friendly) so I was not much believing in the effects of any cream during a pregnancy at 41, but argan oil and rose mosqueta oil seem to have helped me contain the damages. Seem. Not sure yet.

I also used a stretch mark cream throughout my pregnancy despite the fact that I believe whatever cream you use the stretchmarks cannot be fully prevented. But I think that even though it's not fully in our hands, the "severity" of them (size, depth, prospects of curing) varies if a cream is used or not. I didn't get stretchmarks; from third month of preganncy I used 2 times / day [b'>Sisley Restorative Fluid Body Cream[/b'>. I was referred to it by a friend who swears this cream is the reason she didn't get stretchmarks. I doubt (but that's my nature) :) Unfortunately, this Sisley one tube of 150 (?) is extremely pricey. The quality of this cream is amazing though - you don't "butter", just "nourish" the belly. I used only teeny tiny bit, maybe one big green pea amount at a time, that was more than enough in my case. For this approach (not just moisturising, but restoring) it makes sense to *very gently* exfoliate the belly once / week to help the ingredients reach deeper levels of skin. The exfoliator needs to be extremely gentle. I ended up using so little of Sisley tube that I eventually bought only one for around USD 100 and finished it only right after birth.

I'm 34 weeks and have just been using Palmers oil before I go to bed on bump, bum, thighs and boobs, so far no new stretch marks (touch wood!). I have previous marks from growing quickly when I was younger (and wouldn't have bothered with moisturizing) and my mum definitely has trench marks (very much doubt she would have used anything) so take from that what you will re genetics and effectiveness of creams etc!

For my first pregnancy I used just the cocoa butter stretch mark cream as soon as I found out I conceived with DS, and ended up with 4 small stretch marks appearing AFTER I gave birth - pffft (they are now not visible). I am now 33 weeks with No 2, and have used a mix (literally I mix up a blob of cocoa butter, and squirt of bio oil in the palm of my hand) and rub that all over my belly, boobs, and butt, twice a day - no stretch marks as of yet.. but I am sure with my luck I will get another set after I give birth... While I know people say they are quite expensive, I think I have used 2-3 tubes of cocoa butter so far, and I am halfway through my second bottle of bio oil .. not to bad considering I have been using it for twice a day for about 30 weeks... HTH

I've been using Bio Oil in the morning and Palmers Cocoa Butter Massage Stretch Mark Lotion just before bed every night. I'm 36 weeks and don't have one stretch mark, touch wood. Have been told that they are both actually useless and it goes by your genes - if your Mum didn't get stretch marks, then you probably won't either, but I wasn't leaving it to luck. Anyway, I've enjoyed giving my bump a massage every day :)
