My daughter was similar in the early days. Didn't sleep for longer till past for 4 month mark. Now she does approx 1 hour, 2 hours and a 30 min catnap at 6+ months. It could work itself out. What i did was go in (sometimes with some milk) and put her back to sleep when she woke up. Eventually she slept through. Still wakes up sometimes but more often than not has her naps *knocks wood furiously* She is a **** night sleeper tho :(. Has been since around the same time that she became a good day sleeper. Don't know if theres any connection or if that helps you at all :\:

Sounds like my ds, his my 3 rd child and his exactly the same, his 5 months now sleeps 12 hours at night but max1 hour sleep or 30 min sleeps every 2 hours.....his unlike my 2 dd who use to sleep min or 2-3 hours in the afternoon as well...as little naps....as they get older he should have less frequent naps and hopefully andive long one in the afternoon fingers crossed...

Hi ilovewine Every baby is different but it sounds like you got one like my DS2. From about 6 weeks onwards he has slept really well at night but basically just power naps for 20-30 mins at a time during the day. Sometimes he sleeps for a little longer around lunchtime if I hold him for a while but as I don't want to get into that habit it's very rarely that he does this! I've asked around and apparently if it's not really bothering them then that's probably normal for him! I know it means you don't get much of a break during the day either but this will get better and easier as he gets a little older and learns to play by himself for a little while.

My ds is 2 months. He sleeps like a dream at night yet during the day he hardly sleeps for 30 minutes at a time. Longest nap being 45 minutes. Is this normal? No amount of rocking, bouncing, singing, etc seems to help. It throws out his eating schedule too, so we're all over the place at the moment.
