yes some mums are rude haha I hope its not because they have not very good looking kids? anyway not everyone will have the chance to be chosen and have the privilege to be a model. as long as your baby will have fun and really have the personality as long as they are not exploited why not? as long as you wouldn't be a stage parent like Michael Jackson's dad why not? when they grow up they would look back and happy that once in their life they were an adorable cutie babies/kids who did some modelling. its a gift to the world, I would love to see adorable lovely babies in prints or commercials! the world would be a sad place if mums will stop doing this no more big photos of babies/kids on tv or shopping malls right? edited by mrsjoanbelle on 24/08/2013

Hi, Just wondering if u would submit your beloved lil one? if so, what advice would u give? how do u know which agencies r good? which agencies specialise in baby modelling here in dubai? any recommendations? :) CB in your origional post you asked for advice. On a forum there will always be some who agree or disagree. AmyAus brings up some good points. If you can't handle a negative response on a forum,it will be hard out there in the real face to face "modeling world". You got some good advice here and you can choose to take it or not, but don't throw the toys if someone chooses to disagree with you.All that will happen is it becomes a bun fight and the thread gets deleted. All the best with your little one. edited by Nomad on 17/03/2012 i agree...got some good advice. its the attitude i have a problem with...some people KNOW how to express an opposing point of view and some clearly do not. give attitude and expect to get it back.

Having worked with kids on shoots - I always felt bad for them when they had to hang around - when things ran late I could just go grab a diet coke whereas the kids would be rubbing their eyes and really not feeling it. I always thought it was so unfair that they got paid a lot less than I did considering the parent had to accompany them too. The only thing to consider is that people behind the camera can be really mean - they treat models as things and complain when things don't go as planned - as an adult I got upset a couple of times with people talking about me like I was deaf and dumb - I know the kids got upset and then struggled to smile when someone was b*tching about them. Doesn't always happen but it is something to consider Saying that some kids love it - personally I wouldn't do it but then my daughter has no online presence either (no pics on facebook) If you are interested in doing it then do it!!! Your little one will let you know if they are into it or not.

[ HI, EmilyG, can you give a little more details, what bad exp she had? so people can be more alert. TIA Hi I guess 'very bad' is a slight exaggeration. I don't know all the details tbh - as faras I can remember, my friend just seemed a bit frustrated with a lack of communication on one shoot. As I said, it may well have been an isolated incident. Her kids love modelling and as far as I know haven't encountered any problems.

Hi CB, personally I would not involve my children in modelling as I do not feel comfortable with it for various reasons. BUT a friend of mine is fine with it and her kids have done a *lot* over the past few years. She has a great relationship with Bareface who are very professional, but, as far as I know, she had one very bad exp with Jellyfish. That was a few years ago though, so maybe they have since changed - or maybe she was just unlucky. I would think very carefully before involving your kids in this environment but if you are all happy with it then good luck. HI, EmilyG, can you give a little more details, what bad exp she had? so people can be more alert. TIA

I like the idea, but where should be go to present her lil one? Go to the bareface website and submit LO's pictures they will revert to you.

We were approached in the UK when our DD was very young, we decided not to go with it as the travellling would not have been fair. Shd isn't with an agency, but did do some work for Bloomingdales last year, just a one off. Most of our friends had gone, we had nothing planned so thought why not. The photographer, stylist, hair etc were brilliant, and she had the best morning with them. I would have been a nervous wreck on the stage, lights, cameras, strange people, but she was very comfortable, very well looked after and very well paid EVENTUALLY. It's not something I would encourage her to do on a regular basis but now and then and if it doesn't intefere with school then why not. So long as she wanted to do it and caused no stress.

Bareface are good. Ignore the other comments - this is not for a paegent. My DD loves modeling and we have fun. There are some parents though that have shocked me. The last shoot DD did had another child who was simply not interested in the whole thing and a pushy mother who did horrible things like let her child get detention at school so she can keep his cute looking hairstyle and he remain in 'demand'. Even the child wanted to have his hair cut :( Anyway, so as long as baby is enjoying it its okay. Let me tell you its not easy though (I get completely bored at times, watching DD repeat the same thing over and over till they get the right shot) and there's very little requirement for babies per se. Usually for 5+ years. PS - DD is quite hairy and no I don't have her waxed or her eyebrows done. They are usually looking for real children and the industry here I have found is quite good. Shoots that include children are very often on weekends of during school holidays. There's food and comfortable rest areas at most shoots. edited by summerdream on 13/03/2012

[b'>because i want to submit her to torture and traumatise her....!!!!????!!!! [/b'> At least you're honest - Chapeau :) But seriously: No toddler need this kind of s**t. If you do it, you'll do it just for yourself - not the best intention imo.

Do it. If you have the time why not. Those shows on TV are there because they are the extreme and people love the shock factor. The people on them are there for our entertainment and nothing more. What are the chances of you ending up like that? Seriously! If she gets chosen to do even a small job she will probably make more money for an afternoons work than the bread winner of the family. In the end you will have some great photos from the initial shoot for a couple hundred AED, which is way cheaper than any photographer in Dubai will charge you.

Have you had a chance to watch the Toddlers etc show on TLC. Can't believe the goings on, poor little mites have no chance of a childhood. Not saying that is what you have in mind but worth a look.

Personally, I would not do it. It is not worth the time and effort unless you would really really enjoy seeing your child in print.
