hello i have a 16 month old toddler and are expecting baby no 2 in octotber.. have already started looking for a double stroller and was wondering if u ladies who have 2 children could give some ...
If you just want to take a double stroller for take care of your 2 babies (instead of going outdoors or exercises), the types of side by side or in-line (like city select double stroller) may satisfy you. For more completed such as family gathering or going outdoors with more supplies, the types of convertible might attract you more, especially which can be adjustable from 1 seats to 3 seats. The article of best double stroller tutorials might give you more information in comparing maneuverability, weight, quality and ease to use among different brands of double stroller. https://www.cfone.net/tutorials-on-best-selected-double-stroller.html

Another vote for the city select baby jogger. It is easy to manoeuvre and the huge basket underneath allows for all the stuff needed for a new born and a toddler Love, love, love my city select! It's the best thing I ever bought for any of my children, wished I had it when my first was born 8 years ago!

I am in a similar stuation. I am looking at the buggy pod, although not available here. I feel like we spent a small fortune getting the buggy, car seat, isofix base etc to go and buy it all again to fit in a different frame and a double stroller would drive me mad to only use for a short time. This seemed like a good, cheaper comprimise for us. Not bought it yet but plan on doing in the summer when in the UK.

I forgot about the Verve - I think it's very similar to the Vibe but four wheels, is that right? If so I saw one in MOE a few weeks ago and it looks great. Three wheels annoys me sometimes as going up steps the buggy tends to swerve to either side :(. Yep, basically four wheel version of the vibe=-)

My city select had lost its ubar for the car seat adapter (my carelesness ) and a very nice lady from the forum gave me hers. Thank you sooo much. I had forgotten to order for my second set of braketts to make it a twin. Got in touch with a org that supplies baby jogger stuff. They are located at silicon oasis and they bring in the stroller / accessories from the US. The outlet is called Mapyr dot com. very good service based on my experience :)

Sorry to hijack the thread but it seems many people are looking at the City Select. I love, love, love my city select and am so happy I opted for it. I have 2 black carrycots that unfortunately only arrived here 8 weeks after my twins were born so didn't get much use, that I am selling. They are in excellent condition. You must have the double seat units first as you use part of the frame to convert them. If anyone is interested in buying them, please email me alisondubai at hotmail.com Thanks

There are quite a few brands of buggy board, and most are designed to fit many brands of pram. If you are considering the City Select, baby jogger have their own "Glider board" for about $A100. I bought one for my 17mth old but have a little trouble gettng her to stay on it! I think it's just a matter of time till she gets used to it though... I remember the buggy boards can't be used on those prams with a foot brake that goes across the whole width (ie. Foot brake in centre). City Select has a hand brake on the right side.

I can't wait to get my hands on our City Select when I go over to the UK to buy it!!! After much research this stroller has not one bad review and all the Mums who I have spoken to who have it, can't fault it at all! Sleek looking and the bonus - 9 different options of how to seat the kids :) The Bugaboo Donkey was my first choice, but the reviews have put me off :( Cumbersome to load in the car and heavy!!! I now know of 2 Mums who have sold theirs and bought second hand City Selects! Such a shame and the Bee and Chameleon are awesome strollers!

Love love love my baby jogger city select! I have a 8 month old and 3 year old and they fit perfectly, love the fact I can clip in the maxi cosi and the other seat fully reclines and very comfy.

Love my phil and teds verve, model in between the vibe and promenade - might have gone with promenade as it has parent facing option and the seat bassinet conversion seems good. In saying that I saw it the other day and quite happy as verve has bigger front wheels for at the park etc. I have nearly 5 month old a nd 2 years 2 month who still likes to have rests from walking. Handles well but like most doubles takes up boot/ trunk space. ETA agree withDC, keep your single I throw DD in when we go out without bubs in her old foldaway and reminiscence about the days when I used to think I was busy with one lol edited by chance on 15/03/2012

Hi I have the Maclaren twin techno and I'm happy with it. I used it non-stop for around 6 months after I had dd2 as I walked dd1 to nursery locally. Now that I've had a 3rd I use it a couple of times a week and it's still fine. I would say the best things about it are its weight (light) and the ample storage space in the back. Oh and it folds up nicely due to its 'umbrella' style. Both seats can also recline fully which is great. I would def have a look for barely used double strollers on dubizzle as many ppl witha large age gap between kids sell them on soon after the birth of a baby when the older child refuses to sit in a double stroller. Good luck x

I'm in australia too and using the city select for twins. We thought it would be great as a travel system, using Maxi cosi capsules and also takes the pram seat for my elder Child. She also hates being in the pram! However we find the capsules quite fiddly to put on, and the pram seat is a bit small for a 16 mth old. Lucky we just hired it... We are thinking of buying the baby jogger - City Mini double.

hanks everyone for all your replies- Dubai cat thanks a lot for the offer and for the detailed info! Currently in Australia othervice would take u up on your offer. DS doesnt really like the pram and need to bribe him with food and toys to get him to sit in there..perhaps i should wait before forking out lots of money on a new one? but then howdo u manage when u r out and about,in malls etc and u have to walk for 2 hours o so? can not see myself getting anything done if DS is to walk everywhere, will take us a week to get from A to B.. so confused..

Our ds was born when dd was 19 months and we bought a Phil and Teds Explorer. We had it for about 9 months and only used it about 5 times as a double, our dd wanted to walk everywhere. It is great to push around and also good that its easy to get through doors etc. I did find it quite heavy to put in and out the car though. It does hold its value though as we just sold it and didn't lose much at all. A few friends have the City select and I've seen lots in the malls lately, I think it looks like one of the best double prams but unfortunately you cant get it here and a friend paid a small fortune to get it shipped over here!

We have the Phil & Ted's Vibe and overall, we like it (well, I say 'we', but DH doesn't really get a say in it). On the plus side it's light for a double, easy to steer, sturdy and smooth over bumps. The main seat unit is spacious, and one of the best bits - for me - is that it folds as a single unit without having to faff around pulling seats off. On the minus side, if your older one is tall their feet will probably reach the lower seat while the baby is in lie-flat position. This leads to the inevitable situation of the big brother or sister taking full advantage of the opportunity to kick younger sibling's toes! DD is almost five months so we've just been able to put her in the upright seat at the back, so her big brother can't boot her any more which is much better. That's the only real flaw I can think of. The Promenade looks amazing but I don't think it folds as a single unit, although I'm not sure I'd have let that put me off entirely if it'd been out when we got the Vibe. We got ours in the UK and had Dad bring it over as it wasn't available here. To Shop & Ship it from the UK was around 800dhs, and similar from the US although the pram itself was a bit cheaper in the US. We're often out and about at play centres or malls so if you want a play around with it I'm happy to meet up :). ETA: If you still have a single at the moment I'd definitely keep it as well. DS often likes to walk now, and I sold both of his singles, so I'll need to get another single soon too. It's also handy for if you're out with just one of them, as the doubles are fairly hefty and large to lug around. edited by DubaiCat on 12/03/2012

Hi my DD is 18 months and DD 2 due in 2 months. We went for a 2nd hand double mclaren as DD walks most places by herself now so doubt would get much use out of it for long before going back to using the single.
