Hi
Just wondered if anyone else was in the same boat and would also appreciate a buddy in the same boat? I have had the suppression treatment and start the stimulation part on Wednesday. Would love to hear from anyone else around the same stage.
Thanks
:)

Hi Dubai71, I did my first IVF in Sharjah EVE clinic, which I would never advice to any of my worst enemy. They robed me and in the end they told me that I have 50 years old woman eggs, and I have to look for donor. I was so upset, got home didn't know what I'm going to do now. Talk to my friend, she told me get second opinion, found Dr. Fakih fertility on internet. Went there, wasn't sure if it's going to work, but after while I felt so secure and believed to this people. Even my hubby told me that if it's not going to work this time, we will try with them again. Dr. Fakih did operation, did transfer 3 embryos, after 10 days I found out that I'm prego, and after 6 weeks I found out that I'm having twins. Lil baby boy and girl :) I'm 36 weeks tomorrow and I made an apt in American hospital for C-section. Hopefully everything is going to be great, and I'm soooo looking forward to meet with my lil ones. Cince then I always advice people that they should go there and try it. If you don't believe me, just ask about me. My Name is Ayten Mammadova. If you know nurses there or Doctors, just ask about me from Dr. Amal or nurse Madonna, or Sheila, they all know me very well. Last week I had last scan with them and when I will have my lil munchkins in American Hospital, I will go back to Dr. Fakih clinic to show them my lil babies. Best personal and great people, very supportive. Good luck to you Dubai71. And please let me know if its worked, my email address is [email protected] Thanks ivfuae- much appreciated ;0) Going to Dr Fakih... any advice? Just seen from another thread that;s who you used and with success ;0) Would still be grateful for any advice you might have. Thanks again. edited by dubai71 on 10/01/2011

Hi all, Confusion, any news? So sorry to all the ladies who had bfn's this month :( I hope you are being kind to yourselves before deciding on next steps? Im actually gearing up to start my first round of ivf this month. Waiting on AF to arrive in the next couple of days so that I can have my scan and get started on the stimulation drugs. If anyone else is in the same boat, it would be great to have a cycle buddy! Let me know! ALL THE BEST Dallydoo ...

Confusion, I saw your message on the other thread and wanted to say I am so so sorry. Its so unfair to be given false hope like that and then for it all to be taken away. I know how you are feeling. Just take some time out and be kind to yourselves before making any decisions. It is a tough road to travel but we will get there eventually. Im sure of it! Thinking of you xx

Hello Dallydoo Well I was delighted to get my BFP on Saturday! However, my HCG levels were low so had another test on Monday and they still hadnt risen much at all which is very worrying. I have had another test today and nervously awaiting results to see if all is ok. If not then I get back on the IVF wagon but I so hope I dont need to. Please say a little prayer for me and very best of luck to you - masses of babydust to us both x x

Hi Dall21. I have just done my first round of IVF and am due to test on Saturday so am very excited/nervous/hopeful. I hope that I wont be joining you for the next cycle but I may well be....I want to say that I was terrified about IVF as really knew not a lot at all about it. However, I have come through the whole thing really well and can honestly say that through all the procedures and injections/drugs etc (which I found to be absolutely fine) the hardest part is this 2 week wait. I had my treatment at Conceive and I have found them to be amazing however, everybody does rate the other clinics here too. I was mostly worried about the egg retrieval and it was fine! I felt nothing as was sedated. I didnt even have pain afterwards. The transfer is also fine - a little like a pap smear and over in a few minutes. Please keep the faith as I am trying to (I hope I feel the same on Saturday) as I have had so much support from other ladies and there was a lady on here yesterday who had a BFP after four attempts so her determination has really ended fantastically. Good Luck and please keep in touch! Lots and lots of babydust to you x x

Sorry to hear that MDM Mom - it is really hard isn't it - feel like i never even had the chance of being pregnant after all that injecting.. have never looked forward to my period more!! I also had mild OHSS so have felt really rough all week, still not really feeling better yet but hopefully after the weekend i'll be back on form. Doc says period fixes everything.. hmm hope so! Keep up the good work Nicecuppatea! Good luck! xxx Dubai71, good luck with getting the feedback from the doc. Not sure if i want to do it again.. definitely not for a while and only if I can do it with less severe side effects.. was fine up until ER and then absolutely awful afterwards. Well girls, let's all keep fingers crossed for Nicecuppa and get a date in for a hormonal / commiseration / celebration glass of something!! Tubestrike xxx

So sorry to hear the bad news girls. Good luck nicecuppatea! Tubestrike - I just had a cancelled embryo transfer last month. I was a bit depressed after that. I was crying a lot and just felt like i was in a deep whole and couldn't get out... until I got my period. So don't worry if you are a bit depressed, it's just hormones. Dubai71 - sorry to hear your news too. Do you have any embryos left? Are you ladies going again? I haven't decided yet it I want to try again. It was a rough ride with a lot of side effects and we have DS already. One day I want to go the next I'm happy with one child. It's a roller coaster.

Golly girls. Not going well is it?! Tubestrike- I am really sorry to hear your news :( How gutting for you. Are you going to give it another go? Big hugs. x Nicecupptea- No pressure but it's down to you now!! Everything crossed. x As for me- Today I feel more level headed despite the slight hangover ;) Just cannot understand it. Am going in tomorrow for final test though frankly don't know why I am bothering. Want to line up an appointment with Fakih ASAP to try and analyse why and what can be done.

Hi girls, Dubai71 - really sorry to hear your news, that's so disappointing :( I hope you're doing okay and keeping your chin up - will they do another test or is this one 100% accurate? Thinking of you xx I had bad news today - they canceled my transfer as the embies didn't grow.. in fact, they went into decline. All seven of them didn't make it so I'm back to square one and really disappointed too. Still feel really rough too so think this may be a long week.. Nicecuppatea, good luck with everything - one of us has to get some good news! xxx

Hi girls! No night out for me either - having posted that chirpy 'post retrieval' message I then ended up in bed for four days with mild OHSS :( Anyway, am on the mend now but was supposed to have my transfer today but my embies are not growing quickly enough.. :( Am really sad and won't know until tomorrow (day 6) whether they will do the transfer or cancel it for this round. Trying to be really brave but feel really sad and having felt so ill the last few days just want to cry.. meeting doc first thing tomorrow so hopefully the lazy little embies have got a spurt on in the night! Otherwise i will definitely be having a large night out this weekend to commiserate! Gosh it's a bumpy road hey girls? x Dubai71, how did it go? Hope you got a BFP - sending hugs! xx Nicecuppatea, how you feeling? xx Hey Tubestrike Tis indeed a fu@cking rocky road!! Really hope your little embies pull their socks up. I got the news we all dread... BFN on the beta :( x

Loving the idea of a cheeky night out in between collection and transfer!! Exactly what I need. TubeStrike - sounds like EC went really well, great news :) Dubai71 - sorry you've had bfn on the home tests, you do read all the time that girls test negative at home but have positive blood tests, have got everything crossed for a BFP for you for Monday x I have my EC on Sunday - hope it goes ok, bit nervous about the procedure and the results...

Hi ladies, thought i'd let you know i had my retrieval today - it went really well and i produced 10 eggs woohoo! Have spent most of the day asleep and to be honest with you, the hardest thing about it was not having a glass of water.. the procedure was really quick and I knew nothing about it! Great to read your advice Mommy of twins and good luck Serendipity and Nicecuppatea with your retrievals xx Dubai71, how long left to wait now? And did you manage to squeeze in a night out between retrieval & transfer? :) Thinking of you all x Hello TubeStrike Get you, you little hen producing all those eggs. Now we just need them to get jiggy with DH's little chaps and fertilise :) Bloomin' right I managed to squeeze a night out in this stage!! I was on a 5 day transfer and my logic was loads of people would be far worse behaved (i.e. those not requiring scientific help to get up the duff) than we're being at the moment. Have one (or two!) for me! I'm not liking this 2 week wait at all. Nay happy. Getting blood test on Monday. Have done the home tests but got BFN- everyone keeps telling em too early (transfer was Saturday). I really, really hope so. x

Wish all you ladies the best of luck. The best advice I can give is be very relaxed and take it easy starting the day BEFORE your transfer. Think good thoughts, ask to remain reclined for 15 minutes after the procedure and try to stay rested and lay down as much as you can the first 3 days. There are some good yoga exercises that help you relax and open up the uterus and increase chances for implantation (or so they claim). If anything it will calm you down and help you get over the anxiety. But overall, as difficult as it is, it is worth every ounce of pain and frustration!

Thanks Serendipity! I started doing acupuncture with Dr Ou and have moved to Dr Martine who is based at Synergy Clinic on Al Wasl Road. They're both really good and for me it really helps with stress, some of the side effects like feeling hot, nausea etc as well as supporting the actual treatment itself. Martine gave me the meditation cd too - I think it's called Feeling Peace. All the best with your treatment! x

Hi Ladies, I hope everything goes well for you all. Can you tell me which acupuncturist you use and the CD. I have not started treatment yet but think I will definitely need something to help me relax. I have been told acupuncture can help with the treatment. TIA x

Was a huge relief today - was so worried they wouldn't be big enough but they're getting there now! Not sure whether you're trying anything else to support IVF, I'm doing acupuncture which is great to help counteract all the side effects and my therapist also gave me a meditation cd which is brilliant if you're feeling a bit low or stressed. I'm not the meditating type but it's really working for me :-) might be good to help you through the waiting bit. Another hurdle jumped... you're ticking them all off ;0) No, I'm not doing anything else- silly in hindsight. Stupidly also not getting much support- I told 2 friends here the details: one is great and would be there if I asked, the other is disappointingly self-absorbed and so FA use. Don't really want to bother people at home about it as there is so little they can do from a distance. That's why I have found peoples' input on this forum so helpful. Would defintely do it all differently if I had to do it again but please God I won't need to... ;)
