Hi ladies,

Just wondering if you could give me a rough cost of how much a removal company would charge to move house from one area of Dubai to another, not far for example, Jumeirah 1 to Umm Seqeim 2? thanks! x

Hey as you want to know the cost of moving house from one area of Dubai to another, I would suggest you better ask experts like the box storage company. Visit this link (http://www.theboxme.com/quoterequest.php) and request a quote today. Someone from their company will contact you and you don't need to pay anything for requesting quote. Hope you find this useful

I agree about using the reputable companies, it's false economy (and alot of headache) to save a few dirhams. Believe me, I'm one for saving and economising wherever possibe. We paid 4000dhs with Move It.com for large 4bed villa from Dubai to RAK. There were at least 8 guys who dismantled each room and packed with bubble wrap and cardboard. Electrician to take down the lights and another guy removing all the curtain tracks. There was a supervisor helping and directing. It was a well oiled operation to watch! Everything packed up and removed in 1.5days and a full day to unpack and reassemble. Highly recommend them. Fee

I am guessing it is the head guy who said they would correct it, but then evaded calls , as if hoping the issue would die down. Well it will, but not before I give our opinion here so that anyone else will think twice.

Neither would I; damaged a furniture making it useless (loss of 2000 dhs) Unable to dismantle a 6 door cabinet properly; loss of 3000 dhs No point in saving 1000 dhs if you end up losing 5000 dhs And on top of all this they are not apologetic, and evasive as well. I was thinking that the fancier movers charge for branding; not at all, far better to use people with actual carpenters rather than a group of porters unable to use an electric drill arch have you spoken to their head guy about the problems you faced (fly movers i think?) he was always great when we dealt with him. he's ex-ikea...

We have since noticed they damaged 2 pieces of furniture...so would not recomend after all! We used fly movers at the weekend, they were ok. They moved; 2 beds ( one of which is tricky to move) 1sofa Dining table & 4 chairs 3 tall boys Baby's cot Around 5 boxes and other bits Charged 800 AED. They were quite slow, but got the job done! glad they were ok for you! edited by Norts on 18/07/2012

I am moving from JVT to Falcon City and received a quote today from a firm that was recommended on here. The quote was 2800 aed for one day. I am in a two bed villa and also have garden furniture. I am packing my kitchen up myself though and my clothes although the quote included them doing this for me!!! . I thought that was a very good price. It was with TMS (Total Moving and Storage) The will also unpack.

Thanks very much that is really useful. I am thinking about moving at the end of the year as our neighbour has a cockerel which is giving me sleepless nights but I'm just wondering of all the costs involved with removal firms, agency fees etc!!!
