Hi, ladies, I am trying to get some information on this school. I have read a few old threads but they are very general. Can anyone give me some feedback, if someone has/had kids at this school. Also suggest any other decent brit curriculum schools with a reasonable fee, kindly dont suggest bsak, bisad and aldar as they are well out of my budget :) Hope you can help.

All my 3 children went to Cambridge School and I totally disagree with Busybee. The school is fantastic with a wonderful headmaster. The classes are small and I would thoroughly recommend the school to anyone. My son joined the school 3 months into A/S levels and they gave him after school lessons for free to catch up and he is now studying law in the UK. What bearing Mussafah has to do with the school I have no idea................ it is nowhere near the industrial part of Mussafah!!!!! It's almost like you are implying a lower class of student would go there. Buses run from Abu Dhabi to the Cambridge bringing students from the capital. The fees have nothing to do with the standard of teaching, which is top notch. We moved our youngest son from BISAD school as it was a new school and very poor in education and was very expensive, the headmaster left, then the deputy head and the change over in staff at BISAD was huge. Cambridge School is in the top 3 schools in Abu Dhabi and OFSTED gave it an 'excellent' in every area. All the schools are moving from Abu Dhabi to this area to make room for buildings in Abu Dhabi. Don't be so snobbish about the area, fees. It's about an established school with excellent results. edited by Heliotropic on 28/10/2012 did i say it was a bad school, i think you will find i said in the past it wasnt the top choice of british curriculum school, in the past when there was only cambridge and bsak, then because of its location ie off island in mussafah people opted for bsak first and cambridge a defo second. and actually cambridge is not too far from mussafah industrial as its just across the road, but it IS separated by the big busy road! and not all schools are moving out there...... there has been a couple of schools built there recently. bisad was associated with the ad uni hence why its there, and all the other NEW schools have been built in khalifa city a! and thats why there is so much more road chaos now. it is an established school and yes it does get good results, but would disagree with you being the top 3 in auh, then you are judging across all curriculums. it is run by gems which is a profit school and yes the fees are much less than a lot of the schools, all i said was that the majority of people go for aldar schools and bsak etc. but hey you can disagree with me, thats fine, i can disagree with you too.

The Cambridge is one of the cheaper schools in Abu Dhabi! It is well established unlike new builds like BISAD whose fees were double that of The Cambridge. We removed our son from BISAD and but him in the Cambridge (they didn't have room for him the first year we lived here) although he thought the school was great fun friend wise it's not about that is it, it's about their future. I am still highly delighted by The Cambridge school and you only have to see the results the children get to know it is a good school. Trouble is with a lot of the schools here they do not have the A level years added yet so you may find you have to change schools at A level time whereas the Cambridge goes from Kindergarten to A levels which is ideal.

I have no idea what Cambridge is like as I don't know anyone whose children go there. However, I do know that Cambridge is part of the GEMS group which is profit making. This may or may not be relevant to you, but imo it does make a difference when making money through education is a factor and the school is a business. [Brighton College, BISAD also profit making'>. I think the only not for profit schools are BSAK, ACS and the Aldar group of schools.

Can you please give me a bit more, what's the issues with mussafah? I'm sorry I am still in Chester at the moment so have no idea about the geography of Abu Dhabi.. edited by L Jones on 18/10/2012 cambridge is not the top choice of schools for brit curriculum, its been around a while and in the past many moons ago there was a choice of 2 brit schs bsak and cambridge, this was before when all the accommodation was on the island, cambridge is off island on the mainland and bsak is on island. so everyone went to bsak a few to cambridge, cambridge is cheaper, is run by gems who is a profit school and bsak is non profit, there is quite a difference. now there are more schs to choose from and a few of them are profit schools or run by a company, the schools like yasmina, pearl, muna, al bateen, mushrif are run by a company called aldar. bisad is run by a company called al nord. there is al raha school but is ib, and cis which is canadian. if you cannot afford the likes of bsak or brighton college (which is even more expensive than bsak) or any of the aldar schools then you have bisad and even if you cannot afford them then cambridge is the one for you. mussafah is split into two parts, is quite away from a lot of things, mussafah industrial is where all the "dirty" things are like parts, service dealers the factories are etc, and then you have the residential section where cambridge high school is and that is made up of loads of small high rises apartment blocks, which are the cheaper end of the residential sections etc.
