You're welcome You could also do the glass bottom cable car up to the Big Buddha- it's really cool (if you don't mind heights!) Think small children would love it! I know I did :)

The Science Museum in Kowloon is very good and has lots of interactive stuff for all age groups ( I loved it) There is also a museum/art gallery out in Sha Tin that gets really good exhibitions - worthwhile checking to see if there is anything good on. If I think of anything else I'll post! PS can I sneak in your suitcase please?

Thanks Emur, very excited about this and good to know November is not a bad time to go. We are actually looking at a Disney vacation, and for going for about 4 or 5 days, from what I have read it seems that Disney is small there and will not need more than two or three days so that leaves us a couple of days to check out the other places you mentioned. This trip is really for our daughter (her 3rd birthday gift) and so had to be very kid friendly. I hope it wont rain too much when we are there! Thanks again so much. Any other "kid friendly" advice you or anyone else can give us would be great!

November in Hong Kong is quite cool and can be wet- some of the downpours are almost biblical! It's not a bad time to go. It's a fabulous city with so much to do. The botanic gardens have animals/a kind of zoo which is really cool, Ocean Park is great, Kowloon park is good and just the general atmosphere is vibrant. It is very busy and may be a bit overwhelming, but the parks and green spaces are all around and offer tranquility.

Hi Byoung, Thanks for your posts. We are thinking of taking our daughter for her 3 year birthday which is in November, towards the end of November. Is that a good time? We don’t mind the cold (it’s always nice to get a change in weather) but does it get very cold? Is it a very rainy place? I am not at all familiar with Hong Kong and since you lived there thought to get some advice from you.

abaa - Christmas isn't too busy at all as its not celebrated like the West (and they certainly don't get anywhere near the same numbers of days off). What I would say is that, if you're coming from Dubai, it is actually very cold at that time of year so make sure you wrap up warm. Whatever you do, try to avoid the Chinese National Holidays as this is when it really does become far far too congested as all the Mainlanders make the short trip to HK to enjoy the attractions! Abby_n_christina - you could easily spend 2 consecutive days at Disney and the kids won't get bored at all. Weekends (Saturday and Sunday) are a lot busier than week days so you'll get much more 'quality time' duriing the week. Ha ha - for the parents........I'm assuming you'll be with the kids at the same time? There are the Disney classics such as Space Mountain which you can go for. The 3D Disney Cinema is a must for all the family.....the restaurants there are fantastic (if not a little overpriced for Hong Kong standards). What I would say is that Ocean Park (HK's favourite theme park) has much more to offer for older kids and adults but you will be a little restricted (to dolphin shows etc) if you are taking the kids along.

thanks for the feedback!! it surely helps!! glad to know that they'd both be entertained! would you suggest we spend one day at the park or two consecutive days? how about for the parents? enough to keep them occupied? or should we club in a visit to Ocean Park as well for the big people rides :)

Hi, I used to live in HK and my daughter had her own annual Disney pass at 3 years old (unlimited visits) and it was the best babysitting aid I've ever had. She's very restless and, whilst I was a full time mother, Disneyland (only 1 MTR station away from where we stayed) was a godsent. There is something for all ages (albeit, I think teenagers would begin to find it a little boring) but I'd almost guarantee that your 3 and 5 year old will love it. There are plenty of rides suitable for them - Toystory land, Its a Small World, tea-cups etc. Hope this helps.

hi ladies... we're considering taking our kids for a 2day holiday to Disneyland HK at the end of October (for the Eid Al Adha break) and want the whole Disney experience for them (including staying in the Disney themed hotel)... but was just wondering if they're perhaps too young for the rides/attractions?? to those who've been with their kids can u advise if our younger one (3yr old) would be allowed on most rides? thanks
