Hi girls,

My DD is really suffering from trapped wind at the moment and no matter what it seems to cause her pain, and feeding is a nightmare as she's starving but it takes an hour and a half to feed her, with a 10 minute break after 5 minutes feeding for her to get all the wind up.

I've had to start distracting her with toys and her jumperoo as she won't let you wind her continuously, it just has to come up on it's own eventually. She screams if you wind her for too long (and it's not really effective anyway) but then screams if you try to give her the bottle.

I've tried infacol, which seems to help but then it seems to make passing wind the other end difficult, so it's not really the solution.

We fly to Manchester on Friday (sorry to anyone who is on that flight with us) and I'm afraid she's going to scream throughout the flight as she'll need to feed at least three times.

A friend recommended gripe water, but I have no idea if you can buy it here, and if so, where it can be bought. So if anyone has seen it, it would be really helpful.

Or if anyone has any other ideas that might help?

Hey Momz... I bought a bottle (Woodwards, UK made) from som supermarket in AUH, when my 2 month old baby (now shez 3nd half months) got extremely fussy when we visited our relatives there... we gave her a dose of the same, but had no result, she continued to cry throughout the night. The next day we came back and shown her to a ped in Sharjah, he said not to give gripewater and advised me to give her Himalaya Bonnisan 3 times... you know it really works!!! I

I went looking for this a few weeks back for my LO but had no luck. In fact the pharmacist at the third place I went to told me that many pharmacies refuse to sell it. It's been banned in many countries because apparently studies have found it causes asthma. He did give me an alternative though and it works wonders. It's from the Himalaya brand, it's all natural too, it's called Bonnisan. You might like to give that a try if you don't manage to find gripe water :)

Hiya, If you can't find it, I have a unopened bottle I could give you. I bought a couple over from the UK when I came, but haven't really needed it. Let me know, and I can meet you around the Marina metro station or Mall of the Emirates.
