Hi Ladies

You were really helpful with suggestions for my trip to Dublin in June, Now looking at a trip to Italy in September taking in the GP in Monza, (flying into Milan) after which we wish to spend a week/ 10 days in Tuscany or surrounding areas before flying back from either Venice or Rome,

I am also told the lakes is worth a visit?

we are looking for a villa which sleeps 5 preferably with own pool.

we have never been to Italy so any advice would be greatly received.

TIA

Lucky you, I love F1! One of the best ways to travel around Italy is to stay in an Agriturismo: http://www.agriturismo.it/en/ I'd say you focus in the North of Italy. Places such as Lake Garda, Verona, Padua and of course, Venice, are beautiful to visit. I'm Italian, currently living in Venice for some months, so give me a shout if you need help with the itinerary!

There are also loads of websites if you just google private villas in Tuscany. Sorry can't for the life of me remember which one we used.

We've only rented an apartment in Venice, but for villas, I hear these people are excellent, though I believe expensive: http://www.jamesvillas.co.uk/destinations/italy/tuscany Whatever you do, don't miss Venice! Get a season ticket of some sort (I think they do 24hr, 3 day and weekly ones) for the vaporettos and just hop on and off wherever you fancy. Glass-making in Murano is fun to watch, and Burano is a really pretty little island too (depending on how long you decide to stay in Venice). This site has useful practical info: http://www.veneziaunica.it/en So many lovely places to visit in Tuscany, you'll have a great time! Enjoy!
