You can exchange AED to Euro partly in different places and then transfer to Italian bank. I have also bought a house in Italy https://tranio.com/italy/detached/ and usually there are not so much problems with exchangers with the name UAE X CHANGE.

Hey. I would like to buy or exchange a house in London, are they still there though? or for example, if you build a new house, how do you know its address and a postcode? I know for example the postcode can be found here https://postcodefinder.net/england/london, but there are already existing houses, and when it is new, how does it happen? I hope to get an answer, thanks.

Thanks Ladies, I went to Al Rostamani Exchange yesterday and said our AED divided into 5.013(apparently the best rate I can get) will be the exact Euro amount we will get in our European bank, no further deductions and hidden charges. I am a little doubtful that there's no bank transfer charges? I normally pay AED 50 for bank transfer fee of a small amount to europe.. We will check UK Forex houses too and compare the best offer.

Hi, I've used HiFX in the UK and they seem to get good rates. It would be worth contacting a few currency brokers to see who can offer the best deal.

Hi TanAmbassador We used a guy called Matt Boyle at Currency Index. http://www.currencyindex.co.uk/ If you contact them they'll give you all the info you need and always let you know the rate before you do anything. We checked with a few other places including our bank, as the transfer with them was free, but we still got a better deal through Matt.

I did the opposite (i.e. used gbp to buy a house in aed) and used a company called Hargreaves Lansdown to convert the money and i thoroughly recommend them. You have to set up a currency account, which has some anti-money laundering paperwork, but then it's v simple to make the actual transfers at a much better rate than banks. The best bit is you speak to real humans when you call them so can ask advice. Worth you speaking to them to ask if they could be a solution for you. You can google their website.

We used a company based in London when we bought a property in Norhern Cyprus. If you can wait until tomorrow I can get the name for you. Obviously the more you transfer the better the deal and they will do it all via email and your bank. We had no need to draw cash out and take it anywhere. I can wait until next week :) Thank you. I can see the ongoing rate selling of Euro is AED 5.03 looking good I think? I'll post the details tomorrow for you :)

I recently did this and the best way was through an exchange house. My transfer was dirhams to sterling pounds and the cheapest exchange rate that I got was from UAE Exchange. If you tell them you have a big amount to transfer then they phone their head office to get the cheapest exchange rate they can offer you. All other places were a few fils more expensive, which like you said goes a long way with a large amount. I wouldn't use the banks as they are very expensive. So you need to withdraw your money from the bank and then take it to the exchange house. Make sure you keep the slip which shows you withdrew the money from your bank account as they won't transfer the money for you without it as they want proof of where the funds came from. If you don't use UAE exchange then make sure you use a reputable exchange house so that no questions get asked your way. It was a relatively easy process and the money was in my uk bank account with 2 days.

Hi Ladies, please help! We are buying a house in Italy and I wonder what’s the best way to transfer our Dirhams to Italian Bank/Euro? We are paying 100% of the house so even slight changes in the exchange rate will make a huge difference. I normally buy Euros from Exchange Shops as they got better rates than banks. But this time we are looking to exchange huge amount of AED to Euro so I am not sure if that's still the best way to do it.
