Thanks a lot for the answers, that is really good to know. The company is insisting that I go on their Visa which is odd.. I have heard on many occasions that it is legal to work on a spouse visa g...
Not really Odd. My previous company had asked to do it, else they said the employees benefits would be different. The company had a strong insurance both health and term which I felt is a must for me as an expat. Hence I agreed to change my visa. However my current company is fine with me to remain in spouse visa. Maybe your company has to show records of number of employees in the labor department. Reasons can be many, but yes the company can insist for you to be on their visa.

Cannot really comment on the time taken for visa stamping. It is better to keep sufficient time (3-4 weeks) at hand, also considering EID holidays is not very far away. That being said, once your Visa, Insurance and Emirates ID is sorted, and you have secured a job, the company can file a labor contract for you. An NOC from your husband may or may not be required. Like for me, no NOC was needed. Also, in my case, I get insurance from the company even though I am on spouse visa. Do ensure that you have labour contract in place when you start working or atleast your company should have started the process for filing the contract. You do not wish to get into trouble here. Hope this helps.

The company where you have / will secure a job should provide you with a valid labour contract and then you will be sorted.

Thank you Daza and littlepenguin for your replies. Daza, we have not visited either of the two. When it comes to Australia most likely we may look at Melbourne or Perth to live. With regards to the entry requirement, Australia and NZ both have almost similar requirements. We have studied it and have concluded that I will be the primary applicant. That being said, we have no clue about NZ as we do not have any contacts there unlike Australia. Hence we are contemplating. littlepenguin; my thoughts exactly when you mentioned the employment opportunities. But my husband is more inclined towards NZ. I guess it will just take some more convincing  Thank you both for your valuable inputs.. More homework to be done now.. ;)

Thank you AdventurerB for your response. Yes me and my husband will be working. My major experience has been in to the insurance industry. My husband is working in the airline industry (ground operations). In fact we even heard the the airline industry of NZ is strong and were more inclined towards that. What about the standard of living in both places?

Hello Ladies, My husband and me are planning to move out of Dubai. However, we are unable to decide between Australia or New Zealand. I know I should be asking this question in another forum but I have not seen any response for it when someone had asked earlier. If someone can help us out here in terms of the job market, salaries, schooling, cost of living etc. it would be of great help. Looking forward to your responses ladies :) Have a lovely day;)

Hi, My DH recently underwent an ACL reconstruction. He was treated at Mediclinic City Hospital at Health Care city. Dr. Michael Opitz was his surgeon. Dr. Opitz is a very good doctor and very practical in his approach. He is classified as a “generalist” orthopaedic surgeon he nevertheless has a special interest in lower limb surgery such as hip and knee joint arthroplasty and knee arthroscopic surgery. I got this info from their website. However he did a very good job with DH knee. You may want to check with city hospital if Dr. Opitz will perform ankle surgery.

Same here ladies. I along with DH were waiting for a cab at St. Mary's church on Sunday. A guy came long pretending to be wounded and asked if we could spare some money so that he can visit a doc. He seemed to be a healthy person who can earn for himself. Wonder why people resort to begging. As long as they have been blessed with good health, have working limbs, one can and should fend for oneself.
