Hi Katie - I recommend you look on the KHDA site for recommendations of schools. Please choose either a very good or outstanding school to be sure of a good choice. Best of luck.

Hi does anyone know anyone connected with the Dubai Jazz festival. I know of the most amazing World fusion Jazz group who are fabulous and they would be a great addition to next year's Jazz fest?

I haven't been but you book it through the Vox website (or, I assume, in person). I'd like to go but there is a total lack of information about it on their website. Every other 'experience' has page telling you about it but not Theatre by Rhodes. No info, no menu, nothing. Yes I agree - it is really badly advertised.

My boys go to school there. It has improved substantially over the past year (this is their second year in the school- they are in Year 9). They had a lot of teething problems when they first opened but there is a marked improvement this year. My boys have excellent teachers for Maths, English, Humanities and Science - so this helps. What year are you looking at? AM

It sounds very high! If the property is yours then look at Jim'll fix it on a as need basis. If it is under a landlord they should be responsible not you. If the property is new then check the builders’ warranty. Thanks - we are renting so will check with landlord

We live in a large 6 bed villa in Jumeirah Golf Estates. We have received a quote for a 12 month preventative maintenance contract for AED12000. Does this seem reasonable?

Hi I live on Lime Tree valley too. I have two boys aged 12. We have not found any local parks yet - let me know if you do. The club house will open end of Oct - the temporary one that is there is good too though. Nice for a bite to eat and a glass of wine on the weekend.

I find it very strange that there are posters here who says you must contact the police over one text message! Seriously? This guy is just trying his luck by asking for a loan. It is wrong and you can choose to just ignore the text and go on with your life like a normal adult. If he texts again then tell him clearly not to text you about money or anything else for that matter. edited by Asti on 30/09/2014 Yep get it and believe me I do live life like a normal adult - however before living here I have lived in countries where this kind of approach was and is quite dangerous and have experience to prove it. Was simply checking the temperature of the water here for such incidences and I am now clear

Thanks All - that is good advice - I certainly understand that he may have very difficult circumstances and do not to add to them by calling the police - i'll send a strong but polite text for now

Not sure why it has spooked me - never been in this situation before where someone who does not know me has asked for money - and knows where I live ......... I could be over reacting......
