Haha ;) Well, we found someone after all. And it turns out that the unit has a motherboard issue and replacing that is as costly as buying a new one. What brand works best? Any recommendations? Also if anyone has a newish dishwasher they'd like to sell, please pm me. Thanks

Hello, Please, does anyone know of a decent dishwasher repair person? We have a beautiful Siemens dishwasher that I love (yes, it has been the best dishwasher I've ever owned!) that keeps showing Error 04. If there's one thing I can't do, it's dishes. Recommendations highly appreciated!! Thank you.

Tavola! Just love their stuff. Or, if you don't want to get anything too special, go for good old Carrefour, Lulu, Hyper Panda etc. Prices are good, too.

Hi there. I sometimes off my daughter at Creche Out in Wafi. Realize it's not in the New Dubai area but here's my two cents for what it's worth. They are absolutely amazing!! I would most certainly recommend them. Prices start from 60 per hour but if you buy for the month it can go to as less as 30 per hour. No brainer! :)

Hi We have the Zoggy inflatable from Toys R Us. It's nice, she still needs 100% supervision and holding but it's nice she can glide on the water with me holding her arms...

Hi I'm very sorry to hear that the job hunt hasn't gone as well as you'd have liked. Same here. :( But take heart and don't lose hope! I'm sure it will all work out. As for the racism -- I don't think it's just racism to be honest. The job market doesn't look very good. Having said that, living in Dubai for the last 9-10 years, I agree that racism is present, but then it is prevalent in most multi-cultural societies. I'm glad you are proud of being African. The people who will hire you will hire you for who you are, African and all.

Hi Sarah The job market is indeed bleak. It's not him... tell him to keep himself busy. Search and hunt for the job yes, but in the meantime, do not sit and think. That can be very depressing. Sport, meditation, long walks (weather is good) and maybe cooking just for the pleasure of it. Anything really that brings a sense of calm. And let him know that this too, shall pass. Not the end of the world.... It will happen when it's meant to and I hope for your sake that it'll happen very soon :)

Good education in Dubai is super costly. Period. Seems like a brave idea to ask (a good one) but realistically speaking I don't think it'll help. It may just though, you never know. All the best! Your best bet is to look for schools that are highly rated and cost less.

Oh yes, most certainly. Many major companies have frozen hiring (a first for some) and many people are just unable to find a job, whilst are others are shown the door. As for me I've been trying to find a job and have tried in many places but no luck :( Guess it's only for the better. I'm a firm believer that everything happens for a reason... gotta look for the positives :) Sorry to hear about the struggles posted. I do hope things get easy for you and that with the coming of your precious little bundle all the problems vanish <3

Great idea. Had no idea we can make coconut oil at home! I am doing oil pulling too. You get used to it and its good for mouth too. Apparently an old Ayurvedic practice that's good for all round health. Btw, Organic Foods and Cafe stock a good virgin coconut oil. I forget the brand. Lulu hypermarket also stocks it in the organic section.

HI! Mark and Spencer all the way! Specially if you're looking for bigger sizes. I love their sports bras. As for the fitbit, my sister uses one and loves it. But before buying it please have a look at the radiation risks wearable technology poses. Tc!

Hi all. Life without a dishwasher can be pretty tricky. We bought a table top one from Emax Elecronics in MCC about 4-5 years back. Now we gladly have space for a full one and the smaller one has been discarded. Possibly worth your time to have a look at Better Life who carry Siemens. There's a new Better Life that has recently opened on Ittehad Road (going to Sharjah, but in Dubai) and they have a 75 percent off deal on nearly everything. If I remember correctly I saw the table top one too. Good Luck!! :)

Canadian Chiropractic Clinic at Al Wasl is good. My mom and dad have had multiple sessions done there with some benefit.

Marks and Spencer nursing bras are simply the best! Totally recommend! Bit pricey but they are good quality and they last a long time. Have used babyshop nursing bras as well and in comparison found them rather lousy. And I have used the Mama's and Papa's nursing dress pack too, one was light green and the other grey. Loved 'em! Cute and stylish.

Hi. Thanks for bumping up this thread. Oldest DD is 10 and has a significant over bite. Was suggested surgery by one dentist from UPenn in USA. Another 2 have told us to wait until the all the permanent teeth come out. Shopping for professional opinion has left us confused. Someone whose child has an overbite issue and has had treatment in Dubai, I would be grateful to read about your experiences! Thanks, Sunwater

Exactly! Looks as though people in Dubai feel that the more you pay, the better education you get. Honestly, coming from the US where our children can study in excellent state schools for FREE, I think the price of education in Dubai is simply exorbitant!

If you want to call just for three months, I would suggest you try rent a car. Ugh. That's car not call. Thanks for the gaffe Siri!

Hi there! If you want to call just for three months, I would suggest you try rent a car. As for Dubizzle I have personally bought and sold cars through it over the last 8 years or so and have always had a good experience. The poster above has some great tips about buying on Dubizzle. If you were to follow those you should be OK.
