I am going through a similar situation. I spoke with my account manager and he said that the bank will freeze your account if you have a loan as soon as they are notified of your visa cancellation. To avoid this, you can submit a letter from your new company stating that your salary will continue to be paid into your account, I cannot, however, comment on what immigration might do if your account is frozen and you try to leave,

I have no idea about radiography, but oral exams are not practical.. Usually you will sit in front of either one person, or a panel, and have to answer questions.

You can check in oversize luggage and, providing it is within your allowance, should not be charged extra for it. There is a separate belt in arrivals to collect the item. I did this a while back with some Range Rover side steps from the UK.

Have you tried another pharmacy? Boots often ask for a prescription when other pharmacies do not.

The cheque will be returned to you by the bank. You are then able to make a complaint to the police if you so wish. This has happened to me a couple of times.

You never get the deposit back. Call any of the gas companies and they'll buy the canisters back from you for between 100-150 dhs each. Never heard of paying a deposit for gas canisters. You just buy the thing.. Thank you Fairy Dust. I'm sure when we changed the size of our bottles a few years ago, they asked us how much deposit we paid. Maybe it's wishful thinking!! Maybe you are thinking of water bottles? You do pay a deposit for those.

I haven't been there for a while but the Peacock at the Sheraton in JBR is good. A little pricey but they serve banana fritters with honey sauce and ice cream.

I just got a quotation for steam cleaning my villa before moving in from Mangrove Services (www.mangroveservices.net). It is expensive. 4,500 AED. I'm sure an apartment will be cheaper. I am also interested if any other suggestions come up.

Rental prices can be negotiated. Especially now as the market seems to be down. Often a landlord will accept a lower rent for a reduced number of cheques.

There was a 2-page article in yesterday's Gulf News about bottled water. You should read it. Here's a short quote [i'>"According to doctors, our body is anyway designed to adjust its 'optimal pH balance'. Once alkaline water enters your stomach, you body simply pours in greater amounts of acid to neutralise it"[/i'>

1,500 AED doesn't sound too bad. Try Noor Takaful. You could also get lower price quotations from Sharjah-based companies.

Hi there, thank you very much for the suggestion. I tried using it as an app but I think it's not loud enough. I know high setting AC works for me but I don't think it's hot enough yet to sleep with the AC on so I thought I would try the white noise machine. Do you have any experience with using it? Why not try plugging your phone into an external speaker or using a Bluetooth one? Then you can have it as loud as you want!

I believe that the best prices for appliances can be found in the major hypermarkets such as Carrefour, Geant and Hyperpanda. If you want a specialised brand then perhaps you should look at Betterlife in Mall of the Emirates. There are also Sharaf DG and Emax who have a good selection. Secondhand items can be found on the dubizzle site.

With the exception of the pushy, rude people I don't really see what the problem is here. You advertise your TV on Dubizzle and someone offers you a higher price - where's the problem? Do you really care if it will be broken into parts or shipped abroad? After all, you just wanted to get rid of it!:confused:

I agree with Skyfall. The car cannot be registered in your name until it shows zero finance (mortgage) on the registration, so you would be taking on his/her loan while the car is still registered in their name. Sounds like a huge risk to me.

Hi Have you looked at the humidifer at home centre? The drop shape one? I use that, and add vicks or Olbas drops in the water and it does the trick, and it's quite cheap too: [url=http://www.homecentre.com/ae/en/Decor-%26-Furnishing/Home-Fragrance/Diffusers/HOME-CENTRE-Cool-Mist-Ultrasonic-Humidifier/p/145385335'>http://www.homecentre.com/ae/en/Decor-%26-Furnishing/Home-Fragrance/Diffusers/HOME-CENTRE-Cool-Mist-Ultrasonic-Humidifier/p/145385335[/url'> When my daughter was small I bought an expensive humidifier from Boots (cant remember the brand) for about 400dhs and the Home Centre one works just as well. I have one of these and the only problem I have with it is that there is no way to turn the light off. This can be quite bright at night. Yes the light can be annoying, I keep a small cushion in front of it so it blocks the light ! Groupon is selling them for 89 AED https://www.groupon.ae/deals/ultrasonic-air-humidifier
