Juice Salon , Meadows town Centre, My hair stylist Muna used to be working in the same salon when it was called Shima then new owners took over. I wouldnt change hands ever... she has been my stylist for over 10 years now and not over the top expensive given that I have curly, unruly hair which needs treatment often too.

We have had guests who leave such mess as its their standards of hygiene ...beyond our circle of concern or influence.... so I arrange for outside cleaners to come twice a week during guests stay not burdening my live in domestic help. Why bother ruining relations for their hygiene...... thats my take. cheers

Congratulations ! I had a surprise pregnancy after years of infertility and it was managed very well by team of Medcare... my gynac was Dr.Luthra who is head of dept there too. She isnt keen on c-section at all but in 8th month my BP started dipping low and she had to do an emergency c section to avoid fetal stress.

If you can venture out to the other side... Bur Dubai then I can share my tailor details.... you can get fabric there and the dress also made there. Yes apparently in all cases I would have to go to the other side of Dubai, Would really appreciate details of a tried and tested tailor Rinco: 043595902 or colour palette(Romi) 04 3554091

Please get a holistic medical practitioner check your Cortisol levels. I got checked for it and it was found to be high .... its's high owing to stress usually ...impairs body's immunity. Fat accumulation also adds and sleep deprivation. Easiest possible ways as shared above also are: going for long walks, beach( water has an unusual calming effect on us), guided meditation to start with and then meditation yourself once you get the hang of it. It ain't easy but surely we women can manage..... wish you all the best.

IMHO unless if the kids food caters to specific dietary requirement( allergies, deficiencies) I feel its harsh to ration. With my live in maid I ask her what she fancies and stock up , even if it means its somethings my kids like etc...just that there should be enough for kids and her at all times. She is here with us for 11 years now and more part of our family....so her needs are part of my grocery list.

Ear and nose piercings can be done at gold shops too. Tattoo parlors are illegal here in Dubai Tattoos parlours are not illegal (unless it's been outlawed in the last year) ..... they just have to be done by a licensed artist. having permanent make up done by tattoo is legal here. But having a tattoo done as in getting a picture drawn on your skin is illegal Would be interested to know where you have read this ? Ive researched it thoroughly as I was looking at having one done. It is only illegal if carried out by an unlicensed tattooist. Generally they will only get a licence to perform medical or cosmetic tattoos, however once they have a licence they can and will tattoo other things and quite a few do. The law doesnt mention pictures or art ..... it simply states that they must be licenced. http://www.alittihad.ae/details.php?id=12149&y=2013&article=full this article confirms that municipality doesnt provide license for tattoos. Its in arabic but feel free to get this translated...

Congrats Ladies! Most of the clinic doctors will need to move your files to some hospital....one where they are visiting docs or residents or move your files to hospital if they arent' practicing with some hospital. Depending upon that you have to choose your doc and/or hospital. My personal experience is with Dr. Luthra from Medcare, my friends speak highly of Dr.Elsa from City Hospital and D. Janaki from Welcare.

my moms age old remedy used over generations: for a medium sized mason jar: coconut oil, one tablespoon of fenugreek seeds, one handful curry leaves with stems...bring them all to a boil , and use it every alternate day or headwash day. Wash off with amla ( gooseberry) powder. this washes off all chemical residue of shampoo and nourishes the roots. Besides this, I take Biotin tablets.

Sorry to hear about this but such instances are on the rise here these days. Dubai separation can be dealt with pro-bono legal team from Indian consulate. Call their helpline for guidance as then the case will be filed under Indian jurisdiction. I have friends who have used the pro bono team headed by a lady here and she always shares the best possible advise once she ascertains the situation after counselling. Indian consulate has a good team for this......

18 years here in Dubai and I can best suggest that 10K isnt' going to leave you with many options to have a comfortable life or social life. Its' an extremely expensive city to be living in...with biggest expense being rent.

Hi All, So I am moving with my other half (edit: Husband for clarity!) in July to Dubai. He has a job and I will need to find one. So looking for some help with the big change essentially! Has anyone else been in a simular situation at all? I am a bit apprehensive as I wont have a job lined up and I have a pretty successfull career in the UK so walking away is a little scary. I have also been told that UAE doesnt want or need HR - which is my profession. How have others found the move? I have read a lot of posts about how people make friends, and that friendships seem a little "fake"? Whats the true story with this? How do the groups work? I dont want to move and be lonely.... And then there are the practicalities - I cannot find a straight answer on whether I am allowed to buy contraception - whats the deal here? As I said, any stories of relocating, settling in and setting up life would be amazing! Thank you! Congrats on your move. Having lived here for 17 years I can only say I made few of my best friends here after university/school days! Fake friends will always be there...Dubai makes one privy to those more often than not though as its transient here. HR department is a must for most of the big corporations. Ours is thriving for sure... All sorts of contraception is available and docs also prescribe. All the best with your move.

At times the financial aspect or the country of origin makes a lot of difference in visa issuance process. in 2015 three of us girl friends applied for Schengen from Netherlands...all going to celebrate my 40th bday. all documents same, bookings, travel arrangements. Two of us got a months visa and one got 2 years visa! Go figure... we realised she had over 100K in her bank and other two close to 10K only..... Best way forward is to contact the Spanish embassy.
