Place her in extracurricular/after school activities, extra tutoring classes where she'll learn more challenging topics, keep treating her like the gifted and smart child she is, and then watch her crumble as an adult under the pressure of mummy's "My child is incredibly gifted and talented" beliefs. From one parent to another - please remember that she is a child. If you're really interested in pursuing this road, I highly recommend reading studies on what actually happens to adults who grew up as "gifted children". There's heaps of these studies, and they're incredibly eye-opening. :) Speaking from personal experience, as someone who was born in Dubai and spent my entire life here, my parents raised me as a "gifted child". I'm well into my 40s with my own children, but when I was a young adult the pressures of being a "gifted child" messed up my mental health, work ethic, and social skills. These things stick with you well into adulthood. While generalizations about anyone are dangerous to make, it’s fairly safe to say that it's important not to pressure your child into being "gifted". Allow them to pace themselves and explore their own talents and intellect. They'll appreciate you more for that.

Hi! I suggest asking on the ExpatWoman Facebook group :) That's where I found an on-site party makeup artist for my Halloween bash this year. You might find carolers/singers on the group! https://www.facebook.com/groups/ewindubai

Dubai Blinds. They've always got on-going promotions and offers, and they also do free appointments/consultations. Highly recommend!

My sister in law had an absolutely dreadful experience with Dr Tazyeen Faisal. I would not recommend.

My mum tried VLCC. But it's a pain in the buttocks to keep up with, and you'll need multiple sessions which is EXPENSIVE and the results will easily go away after some time. I'd recommend just working out and getting a personal trainer on board. It's much heathier for your body, better long-term results, and you have better control over how much weight you lose.

Ehhhh I'd take that article at face value if I were you. A big law reform like this would make news, but The National, etc. haven't covered it at all. Strange how The Times is the ONLY publication with news about it. I also checked the writer for that article and she's getting bashed for spreading lies online. Best to wait for an official announcement from local news.

Try Dr. Kamil al Rustom Skin and Laser Centre! Got two tattoos removed there for 449 dhs each a few months ago and I can barely even see them. Good thing too because those tattoos were proof of......... silly university decisions LOL

My brother's kids and my son goes to Gems Wellington International School. It's a very lovely school. We have just one concern which is the fees. It's REALLY high and puts a lot of economic pressure on us parents. At this rate, we'll be shifting them to another school as they get older. But nonetheless, the children love it there. Not sure about Dubai British as we haven't checked out the school before.

Personally, I prefer both. I live in my own apartment and don't cook much, so I use Geepas brand because it's affordable and compact. I only use it to cook meals for one. When I used to live with my friends, we had a big induction cooker from Bosch (pricier but has more range) because we cooked A LOT. But if you like to bake often, better go for a ceramic electric cooker. I've only tried a Midea electric cooker, it's nice.

I assume you mean March 2021 not 2012 right? You have to wait until your baby is born. First, you'll need to provide proof of your Australian citizenship and apply for your baby's citizenship by descent (since s/he will be born in UAE and not in Australia). That way, you'll get your baby's Australian Citizenship Certificate. Once you get your baby's new citizenship certificate, you need to schedule an appointment with the Australian Consulate-General, and then you can then apply for your baby's Australian Passport.

Can you recommend thermal wear brands from Dubai?
If you're looking in Dubai, shops like American Eagle, Marks & Spencer, and Tchibo (in Brands For Less only) sell affordable inner wear clothes thermal shirts, thermal pants, etc. If it's outer thermal wear, try Superdry.

I looked up the bully on Instagram and I'm shocked to see she's still very popular. To this day, not even an acknowledgement of her cruel actions or an apology :( Though I hope the bullied child has a loving circle who will support her. From the video alone I can feel the force of my hair getting yanked YIKES

Hi Dear, thank you so much for responding, this information is really really helpful. May I ask which university did you complete your Foundation Studies? What do these studies consist of, are th...
No problemo! :) I did my Foundation Studies at Murdoch University, completed it, then went straight into my undergrad for Computer Science. Foundation Studies is a programme that will consist of classes and exams. These classes are like a bridge to gap between highschool and uni studies. If your son takes such a programme, they actually vary depending on the student - he'll need to learn the very basics of uni skills and maybe even the basic knowledge of his future university course. For example, since I did IT for my bachelor's, in my Foundation Studies I had to take classes in Computational Mathematics, University Essay Writing, Critical Thinking, Foundations of Computer Science, Business Technology etc. Btw, Foundation Studies are ONLY valid for the university it's being taught at. So let's say your son decides to take up Foundation Studies at Heriott Watt University, his Foundation Studies will only be valid if he continues his university education at Heriott Watt after completing it.

Hi Laila_E! I graduated with only my IGCSEs in Dubai in 2015 (I didn't go to A-Levels) and went straight to university in Dubai, but not directly into first year of university. It honestly depends on which UAE-based university he goes into. If it's an Aussie or UK curriculum university, your son will need to complete his Foundation Studies to make up for not completing A-Levels. His Foundation Studies can take between 6 months - 1 year to complete. But when he successfully completes it, he'll go straight to his first year of uni. So basically I graduated Year 11 IGCSEs, took my Foundation Studies in Dubai and got into an Austalian uni after 6 months. You'll have to look at universities that do Foundation Studies as most *DO NOT* accept just IGCSEs anymore. I know that schools like Murdoch University, Middlesex University, Willonggong University, and Heriot Watt University do Foundation Studies. All the best to your son! :)

I'd recommend Dr. Kamil Al Rustom if you're looking for a good dermatologist in Dubai. They always have offers each month, which thankfully saves my dirhams hahaha
