If anyone is still looking for a divorce lawyer in the UAE, I'd recommend Dr. Hassan Elhais. He's an absolutely fantastic legal consultant and he helped with my situation a while back

I'd definitely recommend Fitness First in Uptown Mirdiff! It's a lovely ladies-only gym in Dubai - they keep the facilities clean and the group classes are fun :)

I'd suggest the Sharjah flat. Apartments in Sharjah are way more affordable than Dubai, and if you or your husband drives then it should be no problem commuting to Dubai by car :) Me and my family used to live near Sahara Centre right by the border of Sharjah-Dubai. When I was younger, my mum would drive us to school in the mornings and take us out for family trips to Dubai during the weekends. Sharjah isn't too bad, plus the rent is better hahaha! I currently live in Dubai, but if I had a choice (I don't drive at the moment), then I'd live in Sharjah if I had a car.

Haven't been inside Museum of the Future yet but I've seen loads of videos on social media! It looks stunning from the inside and out. Lots of focus on tech, science, maths, etc. - it's great for kids and teens :D No doubt I can see it as a popular spot for school field trips in the future hahaha.

I had a nearly similar issue with depositing in Liv through an Emirates NBD ATM, but it was for my salary cheque. The cheque wasn't processed and it suddenly went missing. It took nearly 4 weeks from the time of me filing a complaint through Liv's stupid and useless bot Olivia to finally get a resolution from them, but here's my advice when dealing with Liv's utterly frustrating customer service: ALWAYS ask for a human. Push and push or they'll keep you hanging in the dark. Keep a photo of the very same ATM that ate your money and remember exactly how much money it took - there should be a way for them to realise that there's an error in how much money there is inside the ATM. It took 3 weeks for an actual human being from Liv to finally contact me about my issue, and then another week for my cheque to return to me. Good luck!!

On paper, a CV is supposed to show your academic accomplishments, where you're published, where you've been featured at events, publications, and presentations, etc. A CV is best when you're applying for graduate school, PHD schools, teaching positions, etc. A resume is when you're applying for a job in a for-profit company, non-profit organisation, or a government job. A resume is like 1-2 pages max. That's about as much I remember.

For curtains and blinds experts in Dubai, I'd recommend Rimini Blinds. I had some work done from them last year and it was great. I forgot the number I used to call their team, but a quick google search should help you out.

Hi Mia, try the classifieds here. That's where I found my daughter's pre-owned IGCSE books, so there might be someone looking for IB books - https://www.expatwoman.com/dubai/classifieds

Hi there Dezi81, I had to get some documents attested quite urgently about a month ago and a friend recommended Sajeda Toppie. Her number is: 0507959801. She was really professional, not too expensive and got my documents back to me in less than a week. I'd really recommend her.

Hi anu_d_18, You should try and join the EWmum's weekly meetups - it's really fun and a good opportunity to meet new friends. I've also joined a photography group that has really meant the world to me. We meet up once a week and I have made some really great friends in the group.

Hi...curious to know...were you able to buy the thread here in Dubai, and if yes, can you pls share from where? Thanks!
I'm sure you are able to. Most salons that I've been to always prefer threading so it only makes sense that you should be able to buy the thread here as well.

Last year I threw the whole trolley cart over by deciding to fast from the First Sunday after Ramadan started! It was my first Ramadan in the country and I am thankful that I made the effort to fast with everyone. I will be fasting again this year, it is a rewarding, and fulfilling experience.

I think Dubai has actually been doing a lot to include people with disabilities. From the Dubai Safari granting them free access to the park and beaches building path ways for wheelchairs. It seems to me that Dubai is doing a lot to include people with disabilities but I guess I won't really know unless I am in that position.

One of the biggest obstacles of moving here was definitely our finances. It worked out much more expensive than we initially thought it will. The things that really helped me once we got here was to contact my family frequently, at least every couple of days, but also to go out and explore the new country. I was out exploring different emirates every weekend and finding out what are fun places to go to. Making new friends also helped me a lot in adjusting to everything.

I tend to have a heavy foot so I rather drive with it on in order to avoid speeding fines. I am however quite clued up with cars so I'm sure I'd be able to handle myself if anything happens.

You can tickle me pink and call me daisy if I remember the name, but I got a gellish tube from (I know this is going to be VERY USEFUL) Spinneys or Carrefour that you apply in the corners of your cupboards. It works like a charm! When you can remember the name...

Thanks. Good ideas. Any suggestions for children that we haven't see in years so I have no idea about sizes for clothes or likes/dislikes?
Bangles and jewellery for the girls or go stop at the antique museum to get them a wooden jewellery box and a set of the DXB police model cars for the boys. That usually works with my friends and family.

I agree with you. It makes me sad how many people decide they want a pet and then change their mind and just abandon it somewhere or makes it someone else's problem. If the dogs start becoming a hassle I usually go to security and report it there.

If you decide to get any pet, not just a dog, you need to make sure that the pet will fit into your lifestyle. She must definitely re-consider. It's going to break the dogs spirit if she gives him away. I'd definitely try and look what other options are available than giving the pup up for adoption.
