Hi, You'll find Urban Decay in Sephora. I also like the primer from Benefit: Stay dont stray, its a bit thicker but great for my oily eyelids :-)

Hi, I have a child at EISM in one of the grades you're mentioning. My child is very happy there, and its a lovely international school with children from all over the world. The school has improved a lot since Carmel Platt came in as Principal for the primary school in August 2010, for example is the communication with parents a lot better. HTH :-)

Hi, I can recommend a bowling party for example at Ibn Batutta, or Cafe Ceramique if he would like that! Good luck and good night!

This thread is a statment in clash of cultures. Some posters think it 'selfish' of the host not to immediately invite and be hospitable to the entire circle of each attendee's family (even if this includes parents, siblings, maid and pet) while others think it 'selfish' of extra guests to turn up uninvited racking up additional costs. Well said! But (for me) its not about additional costs, its about trying to limit the number of children to avoid chaos!

Hi, We used Epsco to clean the AC ducts and it removed bad smell. Not sure if they 'll remove fungus from walls and bathroom, but might be worth checking out.

I see your point Summerdream, but agree with Cyclone T and janesul If you can't afford to cater to what's the norm here - maybe just maybe don't have a party. Just because it is 'the norm' here doesn't make it ok or acceptable. I still think the post of the thread what janesul wrote: [i'>Those that mind don't matter and those that matter don't mind.[/i'>

Thank you for all your input ladies. If I may, theres another thing annoying me with birthday parties here. Often children are dropped off with their maid/nanny which is fine for me, I have however seen birthday invites which says "No maids please." What I dont understand is why 5, 6 and 7 year olds needs to feeded! How do these children manage at school when noone is there to put the food in their mouth??? Oh my goodness, that's a whole other thread scones :D I know, youre right!

Its not just about the money Mariana. Its for example a place/room catered for maximum 30 children, and having say 5, mostly younger siblings running around might disturb the party. If close friends of course I wouldnt mind, but when the birthday child has never seen the siblings before I rather the siblings didnt come. Surely, Mariana, you drop the child who's going to the party off and go and do something else with their sibling? Yes, it may be the case if the kids are older. One is 3 and the other 5 . I never let them in their own except school . Usually i sent a big cake in Thursday to the school along with party bags and order pizza for them.I do another party with selected invites ( family friends, family members) where i know who attends and still I'm prepared for some extra.... I notice in this board how some of the members they mention they live very luxurious and still be very tide when comes to small things ...it may be a culture thing

Thank you so much ladies. I think I will write it because the party will be at a place where I'll be paying minimum 100 dhs per child. If it where at home, I could of course have extra partybags. Last year I had to give girl siblings boy partybags because I ran out of girly bags (many showed up without letting me know!) When they asked for a girl bag, I just had to say, im sorry but I didnt know you where coming so I dont have enough. But I did feel a little bad...

I know this is an old thread, I was just wondering if anyone has tried the Mattress doctor for mattress cleaning? Think my kids are allergic to dust mites, and wants to clean their mattresses! Tia

Hi, I used Britax Two Way Elite for my 3-5 year old when the rearfacing Maxi Cosi Mobi was to small and can highly recommend it! I used it rearfacing untill I decided to turn it (4,5 years old), and it is approved up to 25 kg rear AND forward facing with the seats 5 points harness. But havent seen them here, maybe you can try Mothercare. If not it might be possible to order it from Europe. Have a good weekend,
