Besides Dubizzle, Where Should I Advertise For Tutoring ESL?

I've had an ad in Dubizzle for just over a week now, but the response rate is fairly low. I know how tricky it can be to advertise things like this in Dubai, but is there anywhere else I should try? Is it effective to advertise at Spinneys on their bulleting board? Would I be allowed to go into schools to let them know that I do this? I'm at a bit of a loss here and I appreciate any tips or comments.

Agreed-it is illegal-I am a fully qualified ESL teacher with 30 years experience and have lost count of the number of people who have asked me to tutor their children 'on the quiet' but there is no way I would do so.

Everyone is right, you must be registered with the ministry of education to do any kind of teaching here. They are getting very strict now, if it is a risk you are willing to take, then just be careful.

CandyGirl, Amy is right, It is illegal to advertise tutoring etc. online and it's illegal to offer these services. Government has been very clear about this, especially on tutoring, in the media recently. Just because people do it, doesn't mean it's allowed.

Thanks, everythingnice. I'll check with Spinneys. AmyAus, you sound very hostile. How about you go to everyone who has ever advertised car lifts, tutoring and other services in Dubizzle and other places and report them all to the authorities? Let me know how you get on with it. ;) Won't need to, authorities are starting their crackdowns this year on people wanting to work illegally here and have made their fines and warnings very clear :) Would you prefer I braid your hair as I tell you you are breaking the law? And cockily doing so, at that? Maybe you can make her some goodies with the PAF while she is sat in the Hilton, while her family scrape together the 100k fine.......

I think you can take your chances at posting a Spinneys' board. It will be taken down as it is illegal
