Great place to stay at Ras Al Hadd for the turtles etc.
I want to pass on a great place to stay at Ras Al Hadd - where the turtles are - near Sur. I just visited to see the turtles, I didn't want to stay in the hotels there and found a great place to stay in one of the areesh beach huts on the beach, owned by a local Omani guy. Very comfortable place to stay bedu-style with cushions and rugs inside (2 big rooms, kitchen area, bathroom & even a shower!), not expensive. Really amazing experience - the owner organised everything for us and even came and made a barbecue of fish in the evening. We also went fishing with him and snorkelling (some beautiful fish on the rocky parts of the coast). Also a good base for visiting Wadi Shab.
