Good Afternoon Ladies,

Please could someone clarify this for me as we are hearing conflicting information!
Me and my partner have just moved to Muscat (into our 4th week). My partner has a job and I would like to work myself.....can I do this? at the moment I have a tourist 30 day visa with a view to extending for a further 30 days....what can I do then? Do I have to have a residents visa to find work or do I have to find work first with an employer who will then sponsor me for a residents visa or...do I get a working visa? Really confused.com!!
Thanks in advance for any feedback - really appreciate it!

If you are not married then you will need to find a sponsored job in order to gain residency. BTW it is technically illegal to cohabit if unmarried and if caught, arrest and deportation can be the order of the day. Do people cohabit? Yes but they run the above risks.

Thanks in advance for any feedback - really appreciate it! There is a huge drive in Oman at present to hire- Omanis first so it may take a while for you to find work. Only an employer can get you a resident visa so you will have to stay on a visit visa until you find a job
