Hi guys just trying to work out which water is the best and safest...ie not left out in the sun (not sure if this has been posted before...how does one do a keyword search specifically to Doha or qatar?)
I see many gallons sitting out in the sun at stores etc...
Which brands would u recommend ? And any ideas on dispensers?

I have Also read on qatar living about using water purifying systems such as Britannia for tap water and that cleans the water completely and more safer than bottled water?

And then also something about reverse osmosis?
Any ideas please on the above and costing etc?

Many thanks!

Not sure what is the safest. Some bottled water comes from desalination plants (which in Qatar are mostly NOT reverse-osmosis, but essentially distillation). Al Rayyan bottled water is from the aquifer. The water in your house is desallinated. it is supposed to be better than WHO standards. For environmental reasons, i advocate drinking from the tap and getting a filter --- as long as you keep your storage tank clean. (Temp control is an issue though for legionella if your tank just bakes in the sun- but this risk is in the shower). There are various types of filters you can get including personal reverse osmosis. Not sure about pricing or contacts. That said, I give my baby bottled water, but the test of us drink tap. I seem to remember a while back that people said Nestle was the only bottled one with floride. The tap has floride too. edited by JillMV on 15/10/2012

Don't know about what is safest, reverse omosis, etc. We have bottles delivered from Nestle for a dispenser we bought at Jumbo. They deliver about 4 or so in the afternoon to our compound, and put the bottle undercover on our porch, so it is not in the sun for long. We bought a book of 20 vouchers for 200QR, plus 2 free bottles. I don't know how that cost compares to buying the bottles in the supermarket, but it sure saves carrying the bottle myself.
