I am looking for recommendations for Dr. Makki at the Plastic Surgicenter. If anyone has any experience or knows of anyone who has undergone a procedure with him, PLEASE respond. I would very much appreciate your feedback. For that matter, if there is another surgeon that you would recommend, please let me know. If you prefer not to post publically, please send me an email at [email protected]. Thank you.

I don't even think there are 80 regular posters on this board! GinaM if they've gone to Al Khor it's most likely through Hamad - I know a few people who have gone that route as well. I also know a few who have had surgeries with Dr. Makki (tummy tuck, breast augmentation) and I haven't heard any complaints!

Also, I see that this has been viewed over 80 times! Surely there are some that are able to reply with information. Don't be shy - obviously your experience would be helpful to many of us... I don't know if others are like me but I read every post on the Qatar board, whether it interests me or not! Then as it's updated I read the responses.... people like me probably skew the figures, as I've actually viewed it 3 times rather than just 1 person. But what I'm getting at is that there probably aren't 80 people who've had surgery, just nosey parkers! Good luck anyway :)

Hi westlaw. Will ask them if they can email you. Not sure if they come on to Expatwoman or not. I know one person who went to Al Khor - not sure if it was through HMC or private Dr up there (apparently he is well known for reduced/subsidised price so could well be HMC) and the result was I think ok in the long run but the recovery was really very very average.

Cosmetic surgery is available through HMC at Al Khor Community Hospital as subsidised rates. I have many friends that have been for breast enhancements and reductions and tummy tucks and been extremely pleased with the results. Well worth checking out.

GinaM - Thank you for your kind reply. I appreciate you taking the time. If I may ask, maybe one of your friends (procedure and not botox) would feel comfortable enough to contact me? That would be great. If not, know that I appreciate the information. Also, I see that this has been viewed over 80 times! Surely there are some that are able to reply with information. Don't be shy - obviously your experience would be helpful to many of us...

Hi westlaw. I have a few friends who have gone there - tummy tucks, some sort of facial procedure - kind of like a face lift but not as severe - I think maybe that one where they put in strings and pull them, lipo, eyelifts (if is a few friends and not just one! :) )...they all seem very happy with the results and have all had the things done with Dr Makki. I had botox done there (with another of their doctors) but quite a while ago. I found it incredibly painful. I had it done once when a friend was learning in Australia and it didn't hurt at all so I wasn't very happy with the pain result here and also found that maybe a bit too much was used and didn't like the entire "frozen face" effect. I have a few other friends who have also had botox there and said that they also found it very painful and a bit too effective! :) Guess it depends on what you are after. I also know people who have gone to other "less expensive" drs in Doha and think that they have regretted it.
