I've heard that under 10's aren't allowed at the Qatar Motor Show next weekend. Can anyone confirm that?

I went today to the Motor show at 4pm (friday). I went with all of my 5 children (age 4-8) and got in. We are expats (blonde kids) and experienced no problems getting in. Plenty of children of all races inside...not just Qatari. Having said this though, there are signs outside saying no entry for children...maybe we were just lucky, but as I said lots of kids inside too. Try again later? or perhaps try another door? different guard, different rules? Good luck, it was fun.

Decided to go to the Motor Show today and catch it at the opening to avoid the huge crowds, i.e. 2pm. There were signs posted about children under 16 not allowed and by the time, the doors opened there was already a big crowd. A lady and a security guard were trying to shift through and inform parents about it - temper was running high. Later on, whilst walking around the exhibition, I saw many kids of all ages (locals and expats alike) enjoying it and ironically, behaving quite well. Sadly, I also witnessed the first groping incident since I have been here. A lady in front of me suddenly gave a surprised squeal (although it was a crowded area, it was not overcrowded). She was in a group of 4 which included one man. When the people in her group asked what the problem was, she pointed at a guy who was a few paces ahead at that stage who had groped her. The guy looked of 'European appearance' although it would be inappropriate for me to mention which nationality I thought he belonged to (I have no proof and it is simply my opinion) and the misbehaviour of one person should not reflect on a whole community. Both my husband and I were surprised that no member of that group decided to go after the guy and confront him. There again, I suppose it is easy if you are a spectator to think how you would have dealt with a situation. Such a shame, as that incident did spoil the fun of the exhibition a bit for me.

Funny that...why did I think the no under 10's would be a one rule for one, another rule for others policy. But there are those who don't ever have to apply by the rules, and so long as you understand that, you will get along just fine. Gosh, I am getting far too cynical!!!!

DH took 11yr old DS there yesterday afternoon & was told that DS was not allowed in. Hubby then pointed to the local family in front of him with very small children who were being let in (of course!) & proceeded to carry on into the venue. He doesn't appreciate the 'rules for some & not others' way of doing things here in the ME!

DH was at the auto show last night and saw all kinds of kids running around... Even ones small enough to be in push chairs. Can't promise why will let you in, but it doesn't seem like they are enforcing their no children policy. care
