My husband recently moved for his job and will be working in Saudi, living in Bahrain and I am coming along in the next month. I would like to find some work, but am not sure where to look. It's not necessarily to make a fortune, but more to keep busy and meet people. It seems a lot of the jobs such as working at a cafe pay pretty badly. Just for some context I am coming from Canada and we are lucky to have great labour laws. I would have a hard time working for something that only pays 300 BD/month. To be honest 500BHD is probably the lowest I'd go for! I wouldn't need a visa or any living allowance as that is all taken care of through my husband's company.
My background is a library technician, and have a fair bit of hospitality experience. I love to be outside and active.
So questions
1) am I crazy to think I can find a job?
2)Do global companies (ie starbucks) pay more fairly?
