Ciao! I haven't seen any during my recent trip to Vietnam, but you can tell her to check in www.couchsurfing.com in the Vietnam group, if there aren't any Italians, she can make other friends, at least.
She should also check the Italian embassy website: http://www.ambhanoi.esteri.it/Ambasciata_Hanoi since they might have some useful links.
Trying to help a friend out who is new to Vietnam and feeling very lonely, does anyone know of any Italian expats over there that she could contact or fab websites like Expatwoman as I'm at a total loss.
