Thanks Jwal, my DH is fortunate to work for an American company. He was Regional Manager here in Dubai but covered all of Middle East, Africa and Asia and was offered a promotion to Director based at the Head Office in Chicago. It is a dream come true for him as he has always wanted to live and work in America so we couldn't say no!! I have heard lots of nice things about Chicago and not heard anything bad about it other than that it is very cold in the winter!! Need to go shopping as soon as we get there for a whole new winter wardrobe and we have 3 kids as well!! Spent 5 hours yesterday in the American Embassy getting mine and the childrens visas.

How brilliant, that sounds amazing! I've heard Chicago is a great place! Good luck on your adventure, hope the move goes smoothly! x

Northern lass, that's so brilliant can I ask how? I thought it was difficult to get into USA? We are also Brits and would love to go to the states!

Enjoying a visit from my big handsome son who arrives on Saturday for a week. DH has 3 days off so will do something fun no doubt. When he goes home with some of our stuff in his suitcase, WE start to get sorted out for going home in January for good YAAAYYYYY!!!!

Giving the maid her days off... enjoying lying in the sun with the DD....just trying to do nothing for a change...and catch up with some reading!!! Thought this time I will not over plan and ruin these 3 days of mid week pleasurable days off but it seems i am already trying to...... ;O)

Just wondered what everyone's planning to do this Eid?

We're staying in Dubai and doing day trips to the long list of places we still haven't got round to visiting yet!
