Rat Pack Concert Abu Dhabi
Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC) announced it is bringing to Abu Dhabi for one night only the toe tapping, foxtrotting, ever-popular ‘Rat Pack – Vegas Spectacular’ show to ADNEC on Friday 8 June.

Organised by ADNEC and in the region for the first time, the show celebrates the incredible musical gift of three friends, the world famous entertainers, Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr and Dean Martin.

Celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, The Rat Pack – Vegas Spectacular gives the audience a chance to experience what it was like to be part of this bygone era of cool cats and glamorous gals. Read More>>

Rat Pack in Abu DhabiThe Rat Pack term was originally coined in the 1950s and referred to a group of friends, including Humphrey Bogart, Frank Sinatra, Judy Garland, Lauren Bacall, Katharine Hepburn, Cary Grant and James Niven, as well as a number of other famous characters of the age.

The Rat Pack – Vegas Spectacular recreates the performances the original Rat Pack gave in 1960s Las Vegas, evoking the sounds and atmosphere of the ultimate age of glamour and romance. Right in the heart of Abu Dhabi, the entertainers will transport the audience back in time to when life was filled with cool cats and glitzy gals. Read more>>

In the 1960s, the Rat Pack created their own language. It was a mixture of slang and cool terms that helped make them undisputably the 'kings of cool' in this the heyday of Vegas.

Review: Abu Dhabi International Comedy Festival

Abu Dhabi ComedyJoyce Milne went along to the opening night on Thursday, 8 March: This is first time in Abu Dhabi for this festival, and was provided under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Ahmed Bin Hamdan Al Nahyan.

The event took place in the beautiful Abu Dhabi National Theatre , what a lovely building, certainly seems to be under-used, is a great space for all sorts of events and performances, the theatre is well signposted and parking was readily available, although if it were to be a sold out event, you would have to be there in plenty time to find space.
