Watch: Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Save Kitten on the Road

We all know how terrifying Abu Dhabi's roads can be, so we can only imagine the level of fear a tiny kitten may feel trapped between the hundreds of cars zooming past. And that's exactly what happened to one very small, black kitten last week in the Emirate.

Thankfully, the Abu Dhabi Civil Defence team were on hand to help rescue the tiny feline, that had managed to get itself stuck in the middle of a road in the Capital.

The Civil Defence team joined forces with Abu Dhabi Traffic Police to help block the road - Sheikh Zayed Street, or a.k.a. Salam Street - and save the cat, which is evidence of their efforts to uphold the humanitarian and animal welfare principles.

Thousand and thousands of people have watched the viral video, and this heartwarming story has made headlines across the world.

The video shows the Civil Defence personnel walking on an empty, four lane street, which has been blocked for the rescue mission. You can barely see the tiny black kitten that's hiding so close to the central reservation.

You can see just how busy this road can be, evident by the traffic on the other side of the road.

There's no updates regarding what has happened to the kitten, but we're sure they'll find a most loving home soon.
