boutiqueBloominglicious Boutique Review By Joyce
I went along today to have a look in Bloominglicious, it was a lovely shop, I was made very welcome by Sheikha the co-owner, and Natalie - her boutique assistant. Together with her childhood friend Mariam, the idea for their range came from the discovery that its really hard to find suitable affordable maternity clothes here in the capital. Once they put their heads together they came up with the fact that they themselves had the skill and resources to design practical maternity wear, which was well made and affordable. I was particularly impressed with the range of nursing dresses, beautiful, flattering styles, that on the outside were not apparently designed with breastfeeding in mind, but absolutely practical for the job. shopping malls in abu dhabiShopping in Abu Dhabi
Shopping is something of a national pastime in Abu Dhabi, perhaps because it’s so diverse – everything from ultra-modern malls with the latest brands, to small, souk-like outlets where you can buy traditional perfumes, handicrafts, spices and carpets. Prices are often excellent in comparison to those abroad, especially for carpets, textiles and gold. If you are good at bargaining, you can get even better deals. Shopping in Abu Dhabi can be serious business when you are looking for good bargains and with intense competition and insignificant import duties, you will find some of the lowest prices in the world here. A few years back, expats would have to go to Dubai to buy many items; now all the major stores are here; Marina Mall and AD Mall are the two main malls in Abu Dhabi. Read More>>

regifting giftsTo Regift Or Not?
Have you ever received a gift that you did not need or like but you knew that your bestie would derive so much pleasure from it. This Christmas regifting is the new buying. It's the end of the year and peo
ple are strapped for cash due to year end, holidays and the like. So instead of getting them a box of chocs this year give them something that needs a loving home, like those brand new salad servers that you will never use. We look into whether it is ok to regift or not and how to do it with style! Before getting caught up in a wrapping frenzy ensure that some simple rules are adhered to before regifting that gift. There are horror stories doing the rounds on the internet, some of them are quite giggle-some but cringe worthy if they were to happen to me or you. “I received an opened pack of four pairs of underpants from my father-in-law, problem was, there were only three pairs in there.” – This is not a gift that anyone would be proud of giving, or happy to receive!! shopping in abu dhabiFood Shopping In Abu Dhabi
With such a large mix of nationalities living in Abu Dhabi there are foods available from many parts of the world. The most common local food eaten is Biriyani a hot spicy rice dish usually made with mutton, camel (!) or chicken. There are several Indian restaurants that serve extremely good food at very low prices and will home deliver for no extra charge. Not all the best restaurants are found in the Hotels! The Arabic food eaten here is mainly Lebanese in origin and is delicious. Consisting of mainly barbecued meats and fresh salads, their bread and pastries are to die for. Al Sultan is a highly recommended bakery for their cheese breads, zatar bread (thyme in a vinegar and olive oil base) and baklava (filo pastry dripping in honey encasing finely chopped nuts). For good shawarma (chicken or lamb wrapped in flat bread with loads of garlic sauce) or falafel sandwich, try Maroush, they do lovely humus and tabouleh too and wonderful fresh fruit juices.
