I have two regular guests who do not have much in the way of manners when it comes to staying at someone's home for a few days.. There are a number of issues but the one I am concerned with today is their toilet etiquette. Every time they leave us after a few days' stay, their ensuite toilet is left in a state which is, let's say, 'well used'. I then have the unenviable task of clearing up the mess inside the toilet bowl and this makes me feel at times disgusted at other times completely furious! They have been doing this for about nine years, ever since they had an ensuite joined to the room in which they stay. It feels like some sort of pronouncement on the quality of their stay, as if we have not looked after them enough and they are saying in a nasty way that our performance wasn't up to scratch. Perhaps a sort of 'this is what we thought of our stay' or 'here's something to clean up'. It makes me so cross! I have nearly plucked up the courage to ask the female guest (politely, quietly, away from the others so as to minimize any subsequent embarrassment) to check the toilet before leaving us but this morning I mentioned my intention to my husband and he asked me not to do so in case it spoiled the last bit of time they had with us before their onward holiday... What on earth should I do?! I thought about making a pretty sign and putting it in a frame on the wall, saying 'please leave as you would wish to find' or similar... But isn't that just too ridiculous after nine years of them soiling and leaving? Is it a case of me being overly fussy and I just need to put up and shut up? Should I just pay a cleaner to come in and sort it out once they've left (actually I'd be too embarrassed about the mess and probably end up cleaning it beforehand anyway!!) If it was up to me I would never want these guests to return (I've been feeling like that for years!) but they are really guests of my husband and so it is not my place to refuse them. My husband has offered to clear the mess but I haven't the heart to make him! Sorry a lot of fuss over nothing (?) just feeling a bit fed up this morning! Any suggestions on how to deal with this with minimal fuss, but without having to get my hands dirty, so to speak! Thank you! Hi sassy, Just to let you know the ‘ toilet light’ you can find in dragon mart 1 , got one for my son for Christmas for a laugh , cost about 35 aed ?

We have been through the same thing 3 times! You need to be super strict with the estate agents that call you, remember this is your home and you have paid to enjoy it as you home for you and your family. Like everyone said on here, work out a viewing time that works for you and your family, not them ,and don't change it, if they can talk you around once they won't stop. I was the same as you running around keeping the house like a showhome for visits, don't do it, it's not a showhome it's your home. For visits in our allocated time and day I asked for 24 hr notice of how many visits were planned, again when they showed up late simple no entry! I also made it clear that agent and viewers were to take their shoes off at the front door and do the visit barefoot! Good luck and just be strict and stand your ground !

Hi there, Our 16 yr old daughter rides at Emirates Equestrian Centre next to Bab Al Shams , yes it's a drive out there but it's amazing! They have lots of livery horses and ponies as well as the riding school horses, we leased a riding school horse last year for 1 week as our daughters Christmas present ! They have an international jumping arena , a fantastic cross country course , beautiful desert rides, it's really a place I recommend. I pass 4 other equestrian centers on the road to this one! Safety for my daughter was my priority and this one ticks all the boxes. If you google EEC you will find their office telephone number and ask to speak to Jennifer she will let you know if any liveries or school horses are available for half lease. If you decide to visit and need help getting there , let me know me and my daughter spend most of our free time out there ! Good luck Hope this helps?

Hi, If our 16 year old daughter needs to get a taxi alone, she is not allowed to flag one down anywhere! She has to stand in Q ( no matter how long ! ) Then before sitting in she takes a picture of the taxi number and the reg ( making sure the taxi driver can see her ) then sends it to me. When on the road I ring her and she repeats the taxi number ,color , reg and whereabouts she is on the road.

Not sure about blueberries, but we have recently moved villas and the garden in the new villa was overgrown and a mess, so of course I rolled my sleeves up and did a huge clean up much to the gardeners horror. He told me I was wrong to have tidied the banana trees, they would die, stay small etc etc I felt really really bad. One of trees I trimmed has now got 5 huge bunches of bananas holding 20 bananas in each !!! I took great pleasure showing them to our gardener

Our school has also sent the letter, again compulsory , unless we provide a medical cert proving otherwise. Our children have had their 2 doses and I'm not prepared to give them a third. We rang our family doctor and she said she can provide a letter to attach to the form saying they have had 2 doses, I think it's going to be useless ,' compulsory regardless of doses given 'says it all really. No one seems to be able to give any information on what the side effects are on a third dose!! Is it good, eg a booster? Or are we doing harm giving them 3 doses. I am confused, fed up and I don't know what to do.

My exercise routine: 6.30am stretch one leg at a time to heave myself out of bed ( legs and abs done) Run downstairs before children get up ( cardio done ) Run around the house like a headless chicken preparing lunches, finding uniforms , lost shoes etc ( more cardio, abs) Run up and downstairs at least 500 times in the day, dragging hoovers up and down, washing baskets etc Jumping jacks every time I enter the kitchen to avoid the cat who seems to be going senile and thinks every time I enter the kitchen he needs to be fed!!! Running around the supermarket with a very heavy trolley with wonky wheels ( more cardio ) Heaving heavy bags in and out of car ( weights done ) Put shopping away ( stretching done ) Attack gardening ( sauna done) Jump in the car to get children from school ,1 hour of bottom clenching ( gluteus done ) Prepare dinner( jumping jacks at a mighty speed now ) Note, dog has also joined the cat to make the assult course more difficult. Continue the run up and downstairs, to check homework is being done and not playing on iPad etc All the time returning to kitchen to check dinner isn't burning ( jumping jacks) 7.30 pm sit down to dinner. All in a day's work

Feed your baby where and when you feel the need to, a baby needs to be fed. I am gobsmacked people even approached you for this! In MOE on Sunday, me and my daughter saw a family, 2 adults and 2 teenagers happily munching a packet of biscuits strolling in and out of shops , no mall security said anything! And as for the amount of people walking around in skimpy shorts and hardly there tops....... I need to shut up now.

Hi lilypad, I bought a pizza stone about 2 months ago , the pizza peel I bought at crate and barrel in midriff city centre, sorry I cant remember how much it was but I bought the metal one, I thought the wooden one was a bit thick and heavy. I put the stone in the oven and let it heat slowly, I have not seasoned it and our pizzas are fab! I sprinkle a good handful of flour on the pizza peel before laying on the dough ( I call mine ' the snow shovel' ) Have fun !
