We have a school function coming up which is for around 200 parents/ staff from the school. We are looking for a DJ that will be able to get the crowd of mostly 30+ years up and dancing, will be happy playing 80,90's and current commercial hits and is a reasonable price. If anyone has experience of any DJ's that would be a good fit, recommendations would be appreciated. Thank you

My husband and I are heading to the Maldives in a couple of weeks and are unsure what the situation is with regards to either taking alcohol (in checked luggage not carry on) or the ability to buy on arrival. I have heard alcohol in the resorts is quite expensive so would like the ability to take some of our own but do not want to break any laws. Can anyone who has been to the Maldives recently please fill me in. edited by kiwimum on 11/02/2014

We recently stayed in a number of hotels through out Vietnam. All the hotels did request to see our passports at check in and a couple made copies but we never had to hand over our passports for them to hold on to.

Hi I have done both the level 1 and level 2 Interior Design courses at DUCTAC and can highly recommend them. The tutor is great, offering lots of practical knowledge ( she is an experienced working interior designer) in a fun and interesting environment. You cover all aspects of design from scale drawings, to use of colour/ fabrics, exploring different design genres and putting together a mood board. I actually did one of the workshops first (Quick Fixes) first to see if I liked it before signing up to the course. I think you will learn more by doing the course than reading a book as you gain a lot from the tutor but also get a lot of creative ideas from others in your class. Go for it!

Thank you Clairehdp for the information. Went there today, stayed and did my bit as sponsor (signing forms) and then left my maid there to complete things. The poor woman had to wait 7 HOURS before the process was complete. Just crazy!

Thanks for the replies. Will be going to have a chat with the surveyors. I agree the TV is **** but at least with E-life I will have the ability to record the slightly less crappy stuff that is on late at night and watch it when I want.

I need to buy a new foundation, mainly to be worn when going out at night, as never really been one to wear a "full face" during the day. But most I look at/put on just end up highlighting every wrinkle and crease, especially round the eyes. At 42 I do not have flawless smooth skin (not too bad but I am 42 not 21) that would work with the heavier foundations like Mac but would like to find a foundation (and concealer) that does not sink into all my lines but instead gives me a fresh, natural even glow. And if possible not too pricey. Suggestions welcome :)

My parents paid for our wedding photos/album We loved it - as it is a present we will always have no matter where we go and no matter how much time passes. If the cost is too much for the album, perhaps buy them one or two of the photos they want to have framed etc. Enjoy this special time :)

Google " The 3 day diet" Basically you follow a diet for 3 days and eat normally on the other 4 days. Sounds unreal but it does work and is easy to follow. Hubby lost 8kgs while I was away for 5 weeks over the summer.

Thank you all for your replies. Our maid has been with us for 2 years and we are very happy with her. Will find out the cost of the passport renewal and will either look to pay for it completely or contribute something towards the cost.

My maids passport expires in May, with her visa due for renewal in April. We will of course be paying for her visa renewal but who pays for her passport to be renewed? As her passport may be valid for longer than she might be our maid, is it the norm for her to pay for it? Appreciate anyones feedback who may have been in a similar situation.

Would really recommend a SeaWings flight over Dubai. Took my parents when they were over and it was amazing and gives you a really special view of Dubai. The added bonus is they are in the voucher book!

Thank you for your replies. The area we are thinking of putting the grass is not huge, but it links two paved areas so we thought the artifical grass might be the way to go so the kids could still ride their bikes on it, no watering needed etc. Does anyone know whether I can be laid over paving?
