I'm from Hungary and I can recommend Budapest. Beautiful city, there are parks for your child, very good public transportation so you don't need to walk too much and it is very cheap! There is direct flight with EK. You can also travel to Vienna by train and then maybe fly back from there (again EK direct). So you did 2 cities at one trip. in March it won't be freezing anymore...

Hello, depending on your location in Dubai... I know one instructor who does group or individual classes in Mirdif (50AED/class). And there was another instructor advertising on facebook in The Real Mums of Dubai group. In Mirdif Shorouq there is a gym where you can pay only for the classes if you wish.

Hi, we are staying in Ghoroob since 6 years, and we like the community here. You can meet other families and the kids can play together in the playground. I also work in DAFZA so it's close to my office and close to schools in Mirdif. However.... with Empower coming on and requesting the tenants to pay demand charges for the AC even during those months when we don't even turn on the AC, it is getting unreasonably expensive. We have friends (and colleagues) in DSO and as per their feedback it is really nice there, so we will be probably considering to move there next year. Hope there will be some other feedback here about DSO! Good luck!

Hello Samash, I live in Ghoroob and I like it because it is a family area with lots of green and playgrounds for the children. BUT... unfortunately since Empower came in and we have to pay the AC to them based on a meter reading, it just got ridiculously expensive. I can't really give you examples, as I have just registered with them now so I haven't got my first bill yet, but there are so many issues, people are moving out because of that. Not sure it will worth staying in Ghoroob if we have to pay almost 2000 AED monthly + demand fee quarterly and minimum charge, too for the AC. This is what I hear from others.. for a 2 bedroom apartment their bill was 1800 AED for the first month. I will see how our bill is going to be, but to be honest with you if that is the case, we will probably not renew here and move somewhere else, even thoughwe live in Ghoroob since 2010.... You can search on facebook for posts from Mirdif Mums or Ghoroob groups, so many complaints are happening and people are not happy unfortunately. If you want to stay in this area or close by, but Shorooq looks pricey, try Al Warqaa that's the closest to Mirdif and prices are still reasonable. Hope this was helpful... good luck with your search!

Hi, I've seen Cerazette in a pharmacy in Dubai Airport Free Zone. Sorry, can't recall the name of the pharmacy, try to google it and call them to see if they still got any. Good luck!

Hi, Ask the question on facebook Mirdif Mums and you will receive a lot of feedback. Personally I can't help much, my son just started in GEMS Royal Dubai in Al Mizhar, and so far we like it. I haven't heard very good feedback from Star - but again I don't have any personal experience with them. And even though Ontario is a new school, families tend to be happy with it. Good luck!

Thank you both! I will check other posts as well in this forum. I have other options as well, but since we are late in applying, we have fewer options than usual. I will also have a look at Horizon - thanks for the tip!

hello ladies, if your child is at Hartland, could you please share with me your feedback about the school? I'm looking for schools for my son and I know it is a very new school so would like to know the parents review on it. Appreciate your replies.

hello jumzy, we went through the same last year. we both got job offers in the UK with my husband, and our son was 3yrs old that time. we accepted the offer and moved to the UK. Neither of us is British. Our expectation was that the education will be better for our son and of course after 5-6 years probably we can apply for the citizenship. We also considered that while in Dubai during the summer you can't go outdoors, in the UK even if it's cold, you can dress up and go out to the park. There are beautiful places. We moved last September and as of now we are planning to return back to Dubai. The offer your husband got looks very good and Bristol is not as expensive as London (we moved to London). All I can tell you is that London prices are crazy. More expensive than Dubai. Bristol house-prices are much lower, can be even 50% lower. Bristol is a nice city by the way, we have friends living there. The life is overall expensive. The nursery/child minder is very expensive until your child is 4 and can go to school, which is free. You may know you get into the school which is the closest to you, you can't really choose wherever you wish to register your child to. Housing - as I mentioned in London - is very expensive, around Dubai range or even more in some places. You can't afford to eat outside much - not like in Dubai. You pay a lot of tax, and lot of extra expenses you wouldn't even think of. Now, with the issue of visas and EU, it's more difficult for a non-EU to get visa and settle -s o you really need to look into this more deeply. As others also suggested, if I were you I would stay in Dubai and save as much as you can, because her you won't be able to! We lost lots of money because of the move and with transferring money, etc. Why we want to be back? Because of the financial stability you have in Dubai. I don't want to scare you at all, I don't want to sound like it is a bad place, but if you really love Dubai and the money matters to you (which is understandable), I wouldn't move now. If you want more info or discuss, you can always contact me, I can send you my private email address. Good luck with your decision!
