Hello ladies - you can visit chubby cheeks nursery - its close to greens and close to green community as well - they are also open in the summers with a summer camp.

agreed Chicken breast is most versatile ingrediet - you can grill it, roast it, bake it, curry it - i suggest you buy readymade spice mix/gravy mix to give you an easy start

Thanks to all for ur feedback - I went to both places and pinned it down to DPS - but JSS offered my 4 year old a place in KG2 straight from nursery - so may be worth giving a try - any feedback from parents on the school

Hi again Punch, jst replied u on another thread. Want u to know its not only parents who are new to Dubai facing problems with school admissions. I ve been in Dubai for a while - still had to struggle with same issue. Apply to as many schools for Sept - and try to relax - dont let the stress affect ur child. Dubai needs more schools - any one listening

Hi punch - Your choice of nursery is imp as you are looking for place in grade 1 and not FS1. The Children's Garden nursery from Taleem group goes straight to Reception FS2 year. Some nurseries go upto FS1 My child is doing FS at Chubby Cheeks Nursery and has already secured admision in KG2 in JSS. I went in with attendance record and baseline assesments provided by the nursery. Neighbour's son is in same nursery, will be going to American Academy in FS2 in Sept. Other nurseries that do a proper FS class are Marina Village Nursery in JBR and British Orchard Nursery - they are also open full day. Good Luck:-) <em>edited by seashell on 30/12/2011</em>

I like the Dubai Mall for the attractions - fountain, candy store, aquariam, dining options are good too - but shopping no ways - prefer Mall of the Emirates, I never even stepped in to the "Gold Souq" - prefer the real one in Deira

lights are available at most hypermarkets - geant has them. u can also sparkle ur home with tea lights and candles.

chubby cheeks nursery has an afternoon promotion starting from aed 800 per month. my child goes in the morn but i got a flyer at my doorstep last week

hey thats good news - jlt needs to have nurseries - i searched a lot before i settled for chubby cheeks nursery in discovery gardens - its cool as they provide transport. good luck for the new place - which tower by the way - maybe its in the same building i stay:-)

I agree that parents should label their child's items. but I am also surprised at the lack of organisation at the school. I just attended a parent's orientation at my child's nursery and it was WOW. My husband and I were greeted by name and the teacher knew more than just my child's name - thanks to a 'know the child form' that we filled earlier. I was so impressed:-)

Hi dear, hope its not too late to answer, I second tiger for Chubby Cheeks Nursery near JLT. It is truly a wonderful place. Just attended a summer 2011 concert with other parents today and had fun. I know they are open all year round and only close on public holidays. My child will go for the vacation care programme next week:-)

lol... cant believe this thread got so far... i am a work-from-home mom .. and my toddler (13mos) goes to nursery (chubby cheeks). for bout 3 hrs a day i get the time to attend my official calls and when she comes home the smile on her face ensures me that she had a good time too. we all have different circumstances and i dont feel guilty one bit

hi kpea, my toddler has been going for only 2 months and is taken very good care of at chubby cheeks and so far i am happy. it is convenient from our area but to be honest as a parent you cant decide on child's school by looking up the website. i went to 3 others before taking a decision and i recommend you go around and pay a visit to some nurseries before u find the best one for your child. Good luck:-)

hmmm i went to the church until may... i am not sure if they run thru summers tho - a nice bunch of ladies volunteer for it and its pay as u go. chubby cheeks is behind battuta mall, my toddler 19mos is enrolled at the place. good place and staff esp

Hi kpea welcome to jumeirah islands, its a gr8 place to live..I live close to you and send my toddler to a nursery called chubby cheeks behind ibn battuta mall... takes me abt 10-15mins. there are 3-4 nurseries in the marina area too which may be close. hope u find the info useful:-))
