Anyone seeing the increase in the Sewage in their Dewa Bill? In Jan to May 2016, it was always around the AED100 mark. In June, it went up to AED200. There are only 2 of us in the house, and there isn't any change in our lifestyle.

I won't recommend Dr Joy either. Didn't have good experience there. My braces took additional 9 months to complete the treatment due to his negligent.

We went to the one near Park n Shop. There are 2 art frame shops there. We went to the one next to a chinese restaurant and were ripped off. We will never go back to them again.

We used Hortus Landscaping for our villa and are very happy with our decision. We had an idea on how we wanted our garden to look and Hortus has given us good advice on softscaping and hardscaping. You may want to give Nadeem a call at 050-283 1341.

We used Hortus Landscaping for our villa. They have done a beautiful work for us. Look for Nadeem - 050 283 1341. He has given us good advice on the softscaping and hardscaping, as well as what type of plants suited for the climate in Dubai.

Does garden waste in black disposal bags get picked up by the garbage collector? I have 2 bags of garden waste next to the bins outside our villa in Arabian Ranches for over a week now and are not collected. Is there someone who i can call? We had the same conversation yesterday. Our garden waste is usually collected within 1 or 2 days but the bags we have out now have been there for at least 1 week. I'm not sure if the garbage collectors usually take it or our gardener arranges but I will need to find out soon. Hi Yorky, If you found out some info, do you mind sharing? Don't want the black trash bags gathering outside the house. Thanks

We used Wrap It Mover for our move. The boys arrived on time, wrapped and packed everything fast. You don't really have to do anything, just leave them to it. They helped unpacked everything in the boxes too, just tell them where to place those things. I recommend them for their efficiency and professionalism. We used a company in Al Quoz for the curtains and upholstery for our sofas. They did a nice job for us and we are happy with their work. You may want to call Emilio to get a quote - 050 5757 680. BTW, they have lots of fabrics to choose from.

We just bought 2 new furniture, a cream coloured leather sofa and an unpolished wooden dining table. We want to apply leather protector to the sofa and wood oil to the table. Any advice or recommendation? Which brand of leather protector and wood oil should i buy?

Write an email to Emaar Communities Management. I wrote to them about the dried and dead plants (with pictures attached) outside our villa in Saheel, it was attended to, but whatever they planted didn't grow. So i wrote to them again, asking them to check the irrigation, and they took actions. After my 2nd email, the landscaping along the common area is looking much better now. It is starting to bloom.

We recently used a company in Al Quoz (Emilio - 050 5757 680) for the curtains and blinds in our villa. They have lots of fabrics for selection, we were having hard time deciding on the materials. They came to take measurements, within 2 weeks everything was ready and installed. We are very happy with their workmanship. In the end, we asked them to do the upholstery for our sofas as well.

Few months ago, I was working on my kitchen as well. Been to a few kitchen companies, Hacker, Kitchen Kraft, Kitchen Haus and IKEA. Hacker kitchens are beautiful but way out of my budget. Kitchen Kraft and Kitchen Haus need 3 months for fabrication, I need the kitchen done fast, so finally settled for IKEA. Spend the saving on beautiful marble countertop and appliances. IKEA price is a small friction of Hacker, so in the future, if i get bored of the look of kitchen, I can renovate it again.

Hi Mrs P. For the rolled up window fly screens, I used Rolli International, they are in Sharjah. They specialise in rolled up and do both vertical and horizontal fly screens. As I don't need horizontal rolled up sliding door fly screens, I got another supplier, Thomas to change the mesh for the sliding door fly screens. Called Thomas 052 9065006, he is from India and is a little blur, so you really have to repeat yourself several times. You better be around when his workers are onsite changing the mesh. I was upset that they didn't use any cover for my new flooring when cutting the mesh.

I had our fly screens replaced with new ones. They were already old and damaged. We replaced the sliding door fly screens and the rolled up window fly screens.

Chezmoi, How old is the house you are living in now? I am thinking could the newer houses have better plumping system, and that they won't clog with toilet papers or wet napkins being flushed down. I had experienced clogged toilet and it was really unpleasant. I'm hoping the 10+ years old Saheel villas have better plumping system.

I did mystery shopping for a research company a few years back. My first assignments were with McDonald, then was sent to cafe, restaurants and luxury boutiques as well. They will usually tell you to try a number of dishes, ie starter, main and a beverage. The food is reimbursement and you be paid a fee for assignment. Sometime you have to go within a specific time speculated. The feedback are gathered online via the research company's website..and usually takes over an hour to answer all the questions, and if the system is slow, it will take forever, you can imagine the pain. If you have time to kill and want to do something to keep yourself occupied, go for it. However, the fees paid for each assignment is really not worth the traveling time and time spent on the computer.

Hi Molly, I am actually planning to buy some dresses and they are from China, so won't be using Shop and Ship. How can you tell if the sellers are reliable? I had bad experience with AliExpress, after waiting for 2 months, just to released that the parcels reached Dubai customs and were returned to seller without reaching me at all.

I just emailed the seller, she won't combine the different items to ship together. The shipment cost for single item is so much higher than the item itself. Sigh. Not worth it.
