SOS Children's Villages

SOS Children’s Villages was created in Austria in 1949, and currently operates in 133 countries worldwide. SOS is an independent, non-governmental, international development organisation respecting all cultures and religions. SOS is highly accountable and transparent, provides regular reporting and has very limited administrative fees.

The organization's work focuses on children without parental care providing children and teenagers with a safe and stable home, family care and education, social and psychological support.

In addition to the SOS Children's Villages (at present over 500 worldwide, in 133 countries) that form the core of SOS Children's Villages' work, the organisation runs a whole range of programmes and facilities in support of socially disadvantaged and impoverished families to help them stay together and lead a better life in the long-term.

SOS supports about a million beneficiaries, children and families, in the villages and in community programmes such as family strengthening, running 192 schools, and medical centres,as well as emergency response operations and specific programmes for example for child soldiers or victims of disaster.


SOS Childrens Village

Given the increasing needs for children care and family strengthening support, SOS Children's Villages has established the SOS Children's Villages Gulf Area Office in an effort to raise awareness and establish partnerships with institutions, corporations and individuals in the Gulf countries.
