Dental Flossing - make it a habitDental flossing: Make it your habit.
We’re told to floss our teeth at least once a day, and when we don’t, we miss cleaning at least 35% of our tooth surfaces. Be honest, are you flossing as much as you should be? We develop many new habits over time. Some make a habit of wiping toilet seats before using them, while others, routinely reach out for their mobile phones the moment they opened their eyes in the morning. But why has flossing always been a challenge to many? Brushing has been introduced to us since (or even before) our first tooth waved hello to the world. Read More >>

wisdom teethWisdom Teeth When – “To Remove or Not To Remove?"
The wisdom of removing wisdom teeth before they cause trouble has long been debated. The human jaw has been steadily decreasing in size for millenniums and few people have a jaw large enough to accommodate four more teeth in the back of the mouth. In only a small percentage of people do wisdom teeth actually grow straight into normal position and can be kept clean and healthy. As a result many teeth grow in sideways, emerge only in part thus remaining in part trapped under the gum tissue. As it is impossible to clean such teeth, infection and inflammation can develop, and this may even damage adjacent teeth. Read More >>

bracesSMILE CONFIDENTLY WITH INVISALIGN by Dr. Salam Al-Khayatt,DDS,PhD
Invisalign is the Clear Alternative to traditional fixed braces. It helps treat a variety of Orthodontic concerns, and since it is clear, removable, and comfortable, it will not impact your daily life. The treatment plan consists of a series of nearly invisible & removable aligners that will be changed every 2 weeks for the next set of aligners. A virtual treatment plan generated by Invisalign’s unique software shows the series of movements the teeth will go through over the course of the treatment, up to the final position which the orthodontist recommends. Thus, this will allow the patient to see upfront how the teeth are expected to look like at the end of the treatment, bearing in mind that every aligner is custom-made for each patient. Read More >>

It’s never too late to look, feel and be your best. You too should wear a smile you’re totally proud of. Braces are not just for kids. In fact, adults make up about one in every five orthodontic patients. Healthy teeth can be moved and corrected at any age. Most orthodontic cases can be adjusted as easily for adults as it is for children. Orthodontic treatments can help straighten crooked teeth or gaps you’ve been all too self-conscious about for years. Give yourself the chance to smile with confidence! Read more >>

brush your teeth"Simon Says…. Brush your teeth"... by Dr. Dina Debaybo - Specialist Pediatric Dentist
The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends supervised brushing untill age nine. The biggest influence in children’s oral health is parental involvement. Over 95 percent of kids learn by what they are modeled, not by what we tell them to do. It is essential that parents not only model what a healthy oral regime looks like but that they also help to create a routine that works best for their child. Here are some suggestions on how to create a routine that will stick. Read More >>

Drs nicolas and aspThe dilemma of teeth replacement, what works better? A bridge or an implant?
Whenever the issue of replacing a missing or hopeless tooth arises, the discussion often boils down to this question: “Doc! What should I do, a bridge or an implant?” As a matter of fact, it is a dis-service to the patient to generalize. There is no “one size fits all” solution, and the correct answer is often reached on case by case basis. Let’s start by some helpful definitions in simple terms. A dental implant is a little titanium screw placed under the gum for a period of 3-4 months to which bone fuses all around before a crown (visible tooth) is connected...  Read More >>

orthodontics dubaiWhat Can Orthodontics Do For You?
By Drs. Nicolas & Asp
Improve Appearance
Orthodontic treatment improves appearance and helps achieve facial balance. The teeth are straightened and moved to a better position. Orthodontics result in increased confidence in both children and adults.
Better Oral Health
Orthodontic treatment leads to long-term dental health. Brushing and flossing is easier when teeth are well-aligned and, therefore, the risk of tooth decay and periodontal disease is reduced.
Better function, relief from headaches
Orthodontic treatment results in good occlusion, thus allowing better function. In addition, if the teeth do not bite together properly, strain can be put on the muscles of the jaw, causing jaw and joint problems and, in some cases, headaches. Biting more evenly helps reduce the strain. Read More>>

baby tooth care dubaiDental Care For Your Baby By Dr Michael's Dental Clinic
Teeth start to develop while the child is in the womb. Most babies begin growing teeth by the third and six months of pregnancy, others may develop faster or slower than usual. At birth, a complete set of 20 primary teeth are grown hidden within the gums. Primary teeth are also known as milk teeth, deciduous teeth or baby teeth. The first tooth generally erupts at about six months of age. 'Eruption' refers to the tooth breaking or cutting through the gums. For babies, this is more commonly called as 'teething'. Good oral hygiene should begin even before your baby's first tooth comes in. Get into the habit of wiping your baby's gums with a clean, soft washcloth after each feedings and before you put him to sleep. There's no need for toothpaste just yet. Simply wrap the cloth around your finger and gently rub it along his lower and upper gums. Getting him used to having his gums cleaned is a good way of preparing him for toothbrushing later on.
