UAE Temperatures Reach as High as 44C This Week

Remember the days of pouring rain, thunder and lightning? They're fond memories, and is the kind of weather we're probably not going to see for a long, long time now.

It's now time to swap your wellies for your cooling spray, as reports over the past few days have shared the news that UAE temperatures would reach as high as 42C this week.

Seems too hot for April, right? We thought so too. But the weather decided to go and top that yesterday and reached as high as 44C in Mezaira, Abu Dhabi in the early afternoon.

These higher temperatures are surely a sign that summer is beginning to arrive across the country, and updates from the National Center for Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) show that the hotter weather is here to stay for a while.

Of course, anyone living in the coastal areas - there's no need to panic just yet. Areas that recorded a temperature over 40C were mainly internal, while coastal areas have instead peaked at around 35 to 38 degrees Celsius. Still hot and a little uncomfortable, we admit.

The good news? The humidity levels should remain low as far as we can tell.

In their daily weather bulletins, the NCMS have stated that the weather will be fair in general over the coming days, and will be partly cloudy and slightly hazy at times over some areas. There'll be light to moderate winds in general, and the sea will continue to be slight to moderate in both the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea.
